originally by Sir Molle:
FAT has fallen, VC-V2 has fallen, 5-N has fallen. The final battle for FAT was supposed to be epic, and at Russian primetime, today, got faulted by Evil Thug blowing up his own fleet with a doomsday.
No resistance has been seen after this. Sov has fallen, station is in BoB hands, sov will switch to BoB after tomorrows downtime.
Next please.

Fun tinfoil hat time. Seeing as how goons love bringing up old dirt to rub in Sir Molle's face, let me throw this out there.
Fact: The Tortuga idea was not a new idea, a decision of that magnitude was made very seriously, and deliberately, with a lot of thought being put into it. Fact: although a lot had suspected, it was the BoB/MC catch campaign that reveled the *****s in the BoB/MC relationship to the general public.
Theory, plausibility (4/10) Somebody got an idea. everyone knew that BoB needed good news, and knew how they announced good news in the past. Somebody, somewhere, took a huge gamble.
Fact: at the cost of losses on other fronts, and after a 5 week long seige, BoB/MC secured lower Catch.
Fact: Goons did not show up in the numbers expected to help IAC. They helped, but for various reasons, including attention on other fronts, it was not enough to save IAC's outpost in lower catch, just make BoB's life miserable.
Fact: For whatever reason, the *****s in the BoB/MC relationship became to big, or to costly to patch up. With a standings reset, and an announcement, Tortuga was formed.
Fact: Bob did not take this lightly, and Period Basis became there prime focus.
Fact: lower catch is being lost, or is lost by BoB as I type this.
Fact: goons immediately brought up the old thread, as we all know, they love drama, and can't function without it.
Fact: it is impossible to break an alliance by sheer force of firepower, you have to break there will. There is a lot of psychology in this. RL physiology does apply here, because we are talking about real peoples mindsets, not 'Internet spaceships' anymore
Under intense pressure, some people just turtle up. If you take 1000 people off the streets, and take them to be interrogated, 2-3 people will simply retreat into there own mind, if allowed to, and nothing will break it. you have to get them out of the defensive positions in there own mind, and make them counter attack. Once they do this, they are exposed, and the last vestiges of will can be annihilated.
So the question I put to you is, was lower catch allowed to to temporarily fall, so that Sir Molle would expose himself in a gloating post? Was it done so that the coalition could deliver one more physiological "kick in the nuts" to BoB's rank and file? The truth will probably never be known to the general public, the only ones who would know, probably won't be talking. It is fun to speculate though, even if the speculation is that it all falls way to neatly in place for someone to have deliberately done this.
Have fun speculating ladies, gentleman, and "others"
