there is no gravity in space. So why aren't the ships in EVE flying with random sides down?
I hate to see a blob of ships all of them with their bottom facing in the same direction, It'd be alot more fun if they were just random --- --- ---

Yup. There is no gravity. In space.

I think the OP just meant to say "there is no up or down in space", it's all really relative. I think the ships are just aligned with the galactic orbital 'north' or something, if there is such a thing? They're all spinning around the galactic core - like all (cept Uranus, cos it's a freak) the planets in our solar system spin upright too.
And I think it'd be a bit confusing seeing all topsy-turvy ships in EVE too...

That would have been a more precise thing to say
Of course, galaxies (except globular clusters) tend to be flat and round. You could just pick one direction perpendicular to the galactic disc, call it north and program ships to align themselves so that their top points north. I can't think of any particular reason anyone would WANT to do that, but it's always a possibility
Actually, I think eve ships align themselves with the "north" of the solar system, which isn't always the "north" of the galaxy. --------------------------------------------------------------------

In the pursuit of pedantry I have to point out that globular clusters are collections of stars within galaxies, not a type of galaxy. maybe you were thinking of irregular galaxies, like the magelenic clouds.
Oh, and it's a game for Pete’s sake, if you are going to pick on a science problem, avoid something that is solved by simple convention, like up (or north on the planet) and pick on something like the apparent drag that is occurring in the vacuum of space (max velocity).

Where you're ALL going wrong is the fact that we are NOT in space, we're flying around inside a dense cloud. I'm serious

Actually we aren't in space at all...we are in a digitized world full of data and nothing else...also gravity is everywhere, its just weaker in some places than in others. ---
