I know this would be a PITA to develop but i think this would be of great use to people who buy in bulk primarily industrial toons but also those like me who **** through 5 thousand missiles in the course of a few incursion sites. This would be to Place buy orders by the cubic meter. This would allow combat pilots like myself who really only have nanite paste and ammo in the holds to completely fill them without going through half a dozen windows and using the horrible ingame calculator and it would allow the industrial toons to easily fill their freighters with components and minerals for efficient transport. there are a few ways this could be done. the method i think would be best if there was a toggle box between units and cubic meters. toggle this to cubic meters and enter in the cubic meters and place the buy order which would still be priced per unit. The back end, either the server or the client computer of which i think the load would be better handled by the client computer, then takes this input and queries the item database to convert the cubic meters to the required number of units; m3 desired / m3 per unit. this buy order will now show up under the market details as they normally do now with how many units desired . In this calculation would result in a fraction of unit that would simply be rounded down.
Feedback and critique is appreciated. |

You said it yourself - this would be a pain in the ass to develop. Also, math is not that hard. Not to be rude, but all you have to do is divide. You can use excel, a calculator from a dime store, your mom's calculator on her cell phone, your iphone, *gasp* your brain...
Not hard to calculate on your own, so feature not worth the effort. |

If you don't like the ingame calculator then use a normal. And if you look at the usual ammo size you don't even need a calc Learn mental arithmetic. |

@tid: ya i am kinda tempted to try and code it out in C# just to see how difficult would be. lot of work especially since i just started learning the language.
@Noriko
1. true enough
2. I just cited ammo since that is what I am most familiar with, let's expand the list shall we? Refiner minerals, Ore, PI materials, Manufacturing components, Salvage, pos fuel blocks, cap boosters, nanite paste.
3. No need to get insulting |

Freighter is 900k m3 (L4 skills)
ores in hisec are Veld -- 0.1 m3 or 9m units Scord -- 0.15 or 6m units Pyrox -- 0.3 or 3m units Plag -- 0.35 or 2.57m units (rounded) Omber -- 0.6 or 1.5m units Kernite -- 1.2 or 750k units
minerals are all 0.01 m3 or 90m units (I believe "salvage" is all this size too. It's been a long time since I bothered checking)
Fuel Blocks are 5m3 or 180k units
PI Materials P0 -- 0.01 (90m) P1 -- 0.38 (2.36m) P2 -- 1.5 (600k) P3 -- 6 (150k) P4 -- 100 (900)
Cap boosters 25 -- 1(900k) 50 -- 2 (450k) 75 -- 3 (300k) 100 -- 4 (225k) 150 -- 6 (150k) 200 -- 8 (112.5k) 400 -- 16 (56.25k) 800 -- 32 (21.125k)

I think this function would be great!
It is not the case that it is impossible to do the math, but it is annoying to type it again and again and to look again only to see you switched some digits or proved your own memory wrong.
Also some of us, for example myself, enjoy to play Eve with other people; talking via TS, Skype, etc.; chatting bilingual (english with tradepartners and [choose native language] with mates) maybe drinking your saturday beer or two and then it becomes annoying to do this extrawork everytime you sell/buy items or to use third-party-programs.
It also do not touch the game balance directly.
On the other hand, this change would make it a little bit easier to program jitabots.
Is this suggested change important, vital or must be done? No -0.5 Is it useful and convenient? YES +1 Makes Botting easier? a bit -0.5 unintentionally changing game balance in a way that matter? I dont think so +1 needs this idea further improvemeant due to not considered consequences? no -0
overall +1 change suggested is a small improvement and should considered as "would be nice to do" |

I didn't really take into account bots since the market bots i know of are just buy x of what ever when it dips below a certain point then resale it it at Y amount. buying by the cubic meter would be more inconvenient for that i think. |
