Okay guys i get the feeling that being the ammar race is not really that good anymore i just cant seem to get kils which is bad becouse thats all i can fly and lasers is all i can use, Can someone help me feel better about being ammar in terms of pvp and whats the advantage.

I wish I could make you feel better but I personally have heard nothing good about Amarr pvp wise. In fact I read a post from a guy that went in extreme detail with all the major amarr ships and it seems that Amarr are behind in DPS, Cap, and Tank. This though is only my opinion. If I can find the post again I'll link it.

I haven't tried pvping with my amarr ships yet but from what I hear is that when your char got lots of sp in Amarr it doesn't matter you're going to be pvping just like every other race, but if you got low sp it's a tough race to fly.

Ive flown Amarr since I started playing the game, I started in Executionars and have since graduated to HACs and Capitol Ships (Archon is usually the last carrier called as it is a BEAST of a tank). While I use lasers I have found very little problem in them with fleets. The Zealot is a particually fun ship you should try when you have the SP.
Amarr are viable in pvp it just takes awhile to catch up.

the thing is they are good and not great
the dps thing is good, but when you hit armor with 60% base resist + 20% from an eanmII, and another 15% from a dcII it ends up being not that great. when your in gang the amarr begin to shine, mega pulse II with tech 2 ammo shoots to 20km. thats great for gate camping/small engagements, but when it comes to sniping an 8 turreted apoc will out damage a mega (by a little bit) at a slightly shorter range. and then again your doing 50% em damage with the amarr ship. oh yes and you have to fit several fitting mods to even get the tachyons to fit.
cap sure, amarr is great with cap, they get a slightly faster cap regen then other races... by like 1 cap/second, and their weapons use lots of cap as well as active tanking.
as for tank well, the gallente ships with rep bonuses out tank the amarr ships with resist bonuses.

Thanks for guys for the info i currently have 14 mil sp but i think ill stick to amarr and just get the skills up a bit it might take me a year or so but im willing to wait im not going to change to a different race becouse i love the look of ammar ships and there back story etc

Well then you certainly are a lot farther a long the skill path than I am ...
Mostly people asking if they should be Amarr or whatever are asking that at about the 1.4 level, that was what made me think it was a typo.
