I'm sure all of you have seen the videos of the never ending parade of macro-isk sellers in Ingunn (if not go watch them) but I never relized how bad the problem is up untill i went there for a little while. IT IS FREAKING CRAZY! i'm use to low sec having maybe 2-20 players mostly semi-afk doing their own stuff, ratting, hauling, pos, few small gate camps etc....
I get to the system, and instead of finding a few dozen people I found a few dozen haulers leaving the staition at once... and more kept leaving. 140 people in local, most of whom have names like 'adfawea' or 'afsdgdfsgsd'.
After docking @ the staition I see why, 4 lvl4 qu20 agents that just give out hauling missions? I'm sorry but sticking all those agents there just yells "Farm me!" So after a few hundred haulers undocked infront of my ship. I decided I was going to pop a few, just to see what was going to happen, maybe i'll get lucky and a swarm of poorly fitted drakes out come out and play. But no, all the did was keep on undocking, while I was talking in local about popping them.
After a few dozen hauler kills and a 5.0 sec status drop, I'm realizing that almost 90%+ of everyone in this system macros like nuts, so until I see that poorly fitted drake swarm, I'm going to stay here for a little while.
But CCP please nerf this crazyness, all its doing is hurting the game. Scatter the agents around to other systems, remove staition (For RP purposes, call it a massive radiological spill and all the agents had to evacuate or something) or drop their rewards so low that it will take 10 missions to cover the loss of an indy, something, anything. I'm hoping you'll remeber this next time a patch comes around, nerf macro mission hauler instead of combat ships plz (looks at poor myrm/arazu+damps)

 What ?!
Yeah we're almost done clearing orfrold , but the last group of NPC corp farmers is rather persistent - will need some heavy camping to root them out. Then , on to Ingunn

Good luck clearing Ingunn out. Ridiculous amount of macro haulers there. Should get paid to kill them like the vermin they are.

I knew there were systems full of macro's, but I never knew it was that bad. Seriously - CCP should do something about this. I know its hard to distinguish between farmers and macro's, but if someone is online more than 20 hours a day, every day, for more than 2 weeks then they are either macro'ing or account sharing (or dead) - CCP just need to monitor how long people are logged on (and actively doing stuff) and then ban all the macro's/account sharers. It would take verry little effort and would improve the game a lot.
Pity they're too busy nerfing Gallente :P ======

I kinda gave up on fixing my sec status, think I'll go pop some macor haulers again. There's a bunch of them in Mamet also, think I saw 60 in local last time I checked
Is there any collateral on these hauler missions? It should be a lot higher imo, maybe they would stop running these missions if they lost 10-15 mil every time someone ganks their hauler.

Its the same in Sibot to Misa systems. 40+ haulers never stop spawning no matter how much you kill them.
What is real disappointing is that they use warp to 0 macros so its neigh impossible to catch them unless you have a bubble set up or unless you can tank the gate sentry guns (which I cannot).
To add salt to injury, the one getting penalized is the legit player with the security hit.
I'd say that the security rating needs to be changed so that a -10 can enter even 1.0 sec space BUT they will get concorded upon hostile action and have only 2 hours timer to return to lowsec space before a concord group is sent after him.

Wait, there are corps around that solely kill macros in low sec for a living? sweet, i'd love to join in on the fun :) Does it pay well with the picking up the loot and ship mods etc...? :) Or is it like all pvp in that you slowly lose money? :P -----------------------------------

Edited by: Kane Rizzel on 26/12/2007 20:03:07 Ingunn is ridiculous. A few of the local Pirate corps will pop some macros if they are bored but it gets repetetive after about 5 minutes and we tend to move on and try hunt something more entertaining. (eg: shooting other pirates popping Macros but this does not mean they are protecting macros just looking for a more interesting fight) I've lost a few ships getting jacked by Anti Pies while popping macros. The sheer amount of haulers in the area would require a massive effort to eradicate and would need epic diplomacy to negotiate with local Pirate/PvP corps for temp naps to insure the public service won't get jacked.
The local Mission farmers are getting jacked on a regualr basis but they just keep coming back day after day, the haulers are like a plague and CCP is apparently unwilling to do anything about it (I would suggest removing the agents but then that would affect potential targets in the area as a downside, unfortunately we can't have our cake and eat it) ANother thing would be to make the hauler missions require crazy collateral so that if they failed it they would lose a lot of isk, more than just having to replace a hauler

Edited by: Feta Solamnia on 26/12/2007 20:29:00 Every time you pop one of those haulers, his standings go down with the corp for about 0.2 per missionitem in the can/destroyed.
So if you kill them like 5-10 times in a row they're in a world of pain.
Non-persistent pressure does nothing to them.

In vaguely the same spirit as axis & allies playing football on christmas day during WW1, perhaps a two-week (or whatever) declaration of neutrality for Ingunn, so that concerned Eve citizens could more safely converge with macro-hauler-popper ships and keep up an effective measure of pressure. The benefits of getting more players there to help would include:
-Sec status hit spread out over more players= less per player, for those who are concerned.
-More players involved= theoretical fewer 'windows' when it is 'safe' to haul
As well, it would make for an interesting Scope article to have pilots who would otherwise be popping each other, floating side by side in space for the 'greater good'.
Maybe I'm crazy...

Only thing that would spread it out more would be taking turns or something. If you activate a module and stop before the ship blows up you still get a sec hit, even if you warped away or only scrammed the ship/pod
Of course some people would happily take the sec hit and wouldn't mind setting up a disco BS camp with the right support... ____________________ Hi. I'm not an alt :) |
