We are a mining/industry based corp and would like to move into 0.0 without stepping on anyones toes so we are curious as to whether any of the larger alliances other there are willing to sell or rent out a 0.0 system that we can set up in and mine in for the good ores. Try Triumvirate or RAZOR, they both have a lot of space and some pets, also maybe try CVA after their current war ends. Right now, Providence isn't the safest place in the galaxy. Alternately, you could try some NPC 0.0 space -- Curse, Stain, Great Wildlands, Venal, Outer Ring, Syndicate. I hope you don't have illusions of renting 0.0 and being safe from all the badguys, because that's not really how it works. Even in rental space, you better be ready to PVP to protect yourself.

Riethe	Posted - 2007.12.26 12:08:00 - [20] Don't waste your time or money. Move into NPC space until your corporation is big enough to try to establish itself somewhere else. (Which will probably never happen unless you join one of the bigger alliances) Curse is a good pick. Everyone that lives in curse is just hauler alts for Serpentis missions, and there aren't a whole lot of roaming gangs. You'll see some Damage Unlimited, sometimes TCF will come through, goons are pretty active there now for the missions. Everything else is pretty much TCF friends, so Russian corporations. Hardly anyone comes into curse looking for a fight in the time I've lived there. Though, there are tons of surrounding regions that are packed with action, and there are pipes all over the place. Just one choice of many. Don't buy or "rent" space though. You'll never truly own it and chances are you'll get back stabbed eventually.

To be honest Xaneria, joining one of the larger alliances would probably be better for you in the end especially if you plan on being mainly industrial, renting space is like renting an apartment in real life, you never get that money back. Not to mention the fact that even if you rent a 0.0 system from lets say the goons, your blue to them but that doesnt mean you will be blue to everyone that goon is blue to, so you might find your self under attack by people who are blue to the people you are renting from, and thats any alliance you rent from.

TubeChild TK421	Posted - 2007.12.28 01:27:00 - [45] How to establish a new 0.0 corp without paying protection moneys to the Goons & Etcetera Racketeers (Grrrs) Step 1: Build yourself a small combat wing capable of at least countering 2 or 3 rogue hostiles, as without even that much, every solo raider in the galaxy is going to view you as a buffet lunch. Step 2: Move to an NPC 0.0 region like Curse, Stain, etc. This way, you have stations that cannot be taken away by an enemy alliance in a major pos war. This gets you into 0.0, with BS rats and some better mining than hi- or low-sec empire space. Step 3: Make friends with your neighbors. A lot of corps in NPC regions are doing the same thing as you are. The ones that aren't are using NPC regions to base their pirate squads out of, so if you're next to one of those, you chose the wrong system (unless you build a much stronger PVP force). Step 4: Learn to dock up when large numbers of hostiles are coming through. Without a substantial PVP wing, you're going to be doing this regardless of whether you're a "pet" or an independent in NPC space, anyway, so why lose the ISK to feed the Grrrs? It's not like they were going to do much to protect you if you aren't a full-fledged member. Even corps who join Minion Alliances who pay rent to a major empire are expected to largely police the space themselves, unless there's a massive attack fleet passing through. IE, Distant Star Alliance paid rent to Lotka Volterra to run Omist, had to police it themselves, and only received minimal support when the big enemy fleets started running through. Who runs Omist now? Yeah. I thought so.

Do some recon work with an alt, where ever you go you will always have gangs looking to gank you even if you pay someone for + standings. So just be smart move your stuff in bit by bit with a scout (dont get ganked moving your stuff). Be prepared to move somewhere else if things hot up around the area you choose for you new temp home and you cant handle the pace. And last but not least enjoy the game.

But hell when i shoot a guy or two in Providence they come in mass to (try to) hunt me down. I would say its the one region I found where people really help out when pirates show up. Respect to CVA, Paxton and co... Oh and if you settle down in Providence be ready to get some pew pew :)
