It is scary how many people who have issues with the client are IT professionals. I am so glad I know nothing.

Last time I looked it up a U.K. citizen is something like four or five times more likely to be the victim of a violent crime than a U.S. citizen per-capita.
Know why a U.S. citizen is four to five times less likely to get robbed? Because the would-be robber has to consider the very real possibility that the well dressed dude whom just walked out of the restaurant with his wife is armed. Heck, a quarter of the people I commiserate with regularly are and nobody would ever know.

I resolved the issue and guess what it had nothing to do with caring a gun! Or a a legally concealed weapon ! WOW Really Crap like this makes me want to quit!!
Ok Fine! The Fix.. I spent close to 4 hours of processes till I found a solution that worked. I did a lot of stuff Including reinstalling the program 4 times! I AM a computer tech and believe me no matter what you do, the repair.exe will not work! And nothing is running in the background processes! Just like Lady Hofstedar said!
This seems to be the only way to fix this issue:
First start your EVE game You will need your Version number. This is how I got it. After the game starts donGÇÖt click anything just get the version number, write it down, its in the top left corner, It might be hard to see but if you click anything at this point the game shuts down. My Version # was something like: (Version 7.22.338500) You just need the numbers after the last (.) In my case 338500.
Next go this link to Manually download the patch. http://community.eveonline.com/patches/patches.asp
Click the OS you have on your comp. Windows or Mac. Then on the next page, Click the drop down and select your current game version ie.. 338500. Then Be sure to click the download button. DO NOT click the Links like the [Download full build] Link! That Link will give you a file but that file wont work! So be sure to click on the (DOWNLOAD) Button.
Then Click on (Save) So you can run it after a reboot. Be sure to remember were you saved the file.. I would then reboot the computer to be sure that all eve files are closed.
It seem you DEV would do a little more to fix these issues! I dint know how much the player that quit pays a month but I almost quit after reading this ridicules forum to resolve this issue! I feel sorry for the Player, Lady Hofstedar that started this forum! The one that quit EVE! I probably would have quit myself . (For the 3rd time! All because of Support issues and poor support ) but I just signed into another account (My 3rd) with 6 months paid in cash! So I pushed through this issue myself . If I would have quit, I am a cash payer and cash Plex buyer! EVE would have lost around $1000 a year from me! You should try to help and treat your customers better! And you should give me a free moth or 2 for solving this Issue |

OP, when you are having patch issues, with stuff breaking all of the sudden, and there is no 100-page thread on the subject (i.e., you are one of the few), something on your end is bound to be broken.
Likely suspects: - crappy intertubes (ping stuff to find out, you're an IT tech after all, right?), call ISP, shout at them - broked memory (memtest, but you knew that), call memory maker for lifetime warranty stuff / hit self for buying crappy mem , get new mem with actual warranty / hit self for being a crappy IT tech and leaking static / bree all over your computer innards (choose appropriate option). - generally unstable and / or rather ****** computer, do your IT tech thing to fix.

You got it the wrong way round, its 3.4x more likely to be a victim in the US and thats even with the US having a narrower definition of violent crime than other western countries. |

Has anyone that has run into this problem actually had success with using the repair.exe tool without having to download the entire client again? Profit favors the prepared |

I did get the same problem. but it happened in the sisi client first since i updated that first. patch is downloaded but the client doesn't restart or anything. Had to re install it.
My both tranq clients updated fine though. |
