I was in a shuttle traveling from Jita after I bought some very nice implants; it was a steal almost. I planned on selling it in some other high sector for some profit. I figured I'd take a shuttle because it was faster and set it to auto pilot; huge mistake. 5 jumps from Jita I was webbed shoot down. Half of my cargo was destroyed the other half was picked up by his corp mate. He lost a BC to concord. These bastards have positive security status. Damn it I'm ****ed for being a dumbass. Lesson learned. It will not happen again ever. If you plan on getting something nice from Jeti, better to travel with a BC class ship at minimum. I know I will be laughed in this forum for being a newb, but thats okay. Feeling kinda down now. Sigh broke as hell to. |

First off, when travelling with expensive things such as implants, if you are on autopilot... *sigh* you should never do that... they will just scan you down. Besides, some of the best stuff is carried in shuttles sometimes which makes them good targets.
You think that you will be called a noob? I think so too 
Lesson learned... dont autopilot while carrying expensive equipment.

Half the post here are about ganking someing in Jita lol. I never run auto pilot any where they scan you and attack if you have good itmes.  Lession learned!

Yeah, whenever I travel to Jita I make sure to keep an eye out for gates with a ton of CONCORD ships as well. Good sign of some high sec ganking areas. Oddly enough I find them mostly on the jumps right before the .5 areas.
I try to use an inty if I want to transport anything from Jita. Just depends on what it is. Also, I use active jumps through certain "trouble" spots. Just heard too many stories about ganking around that area. :)

lessons like this suck....but they are beneficial
back before i got into pirating I lost about 400mil worth of BPO's in a shuttle afk...yea that sucked.

I never transport via autopilot anything I don't want to lose. If you stay on your toes and jump/warp out the instant you arrive/jump people won't have enough time to scan you or usually even target you.
I use CrumpleCorn(tm) Sigs, because they (and he) are awesome! |

I was flying kinda half afk in my ishkur a couple days ago, had just picked up a whole bunch of centii c-type faction loot, reppers resistance plates, energy transfers, remote reppers ect.

Shuttle for transportation is almost guaranteed to be safe. UNLESS you autopilot.
Otherwise they align way too fast to be targetted, let alone scanned.

Shuttle is the safest way of transporting smallish goods/bpos as long as you warp to zero, the ONLY way it can be stopped is by a smart-bombing ship, but these are almost non existent in high sec. So Shuttle + warp to zero = Survive :)
