The solo setup i use is 5 T2 ion blasters mwd, scram, web 3 mag stab t2, damage conrtol and biggest plate your skills can fit
The most important part is the medium ecm drones these will act as your tank
With this setup you can take on many types of ships

Light Neutron Blaster II's Mwd, Scram, Web 1600mm plate, 2x eanm, DC II, MFS.
Less dps, better tank, much easier on the skills.

A pretty standard fit. Solo pvp is more about tank anyway. ôHe who must expend his life to prolong life cannot enjoy it, and he who is still seeking for his life does not have it and can as little enjoy it.ö

What he says. Lows can be changed somewhat but should always include the plate and damage control.

This.
This fit worked when Thoraxes could field 5 heavy drones. Although we can dream about a 1600mm plate rax, this fit is no longer viable. The Thorax, IMHO, is meant to be a face-melting killing machine in its ship class. Every blaster Thorax should have at least one DCU and one magstab, if not 2 magstabs. A few people have mentioned 800mm plates, which work well with medium blasters.
My $0.02.

Edited by: Zeknichov on 28/12/2007 23:42:57 Remove one mag stab for a RCU II and switch the 800 plate for a 1600 plate. Voila.
1600+Medium Blasters...
Of course you will be more effective in solo PvP with full tank in bottom and small blasters.

You would not be able to dictate range on other cruisers with mwd, a maller would just laugh at you and stay outta your falloff while poudning you from afar. 1600 plate on a cruiser = always a bad ideea, unless it's a bait ship or a navy augoror :)

Ironicly, I've spent my fair share in a maller with either one or two 1600mm plates. ;)

I agree. The issue with the Thorax is the PG. 1600mm plates are no longer viable. Granted the Thorax is a skill intensive ship, but fitting a 1600mm plate makes it [almost] impossible to fit the right guns and a MWD. The Thorax cannot be balanced between DPS and tank - it's one or the other. The latter is for missions, the former for PVP.
If you want a 1600mm plate and small t2 neutrons, fly a Vexor, it's a blast! Don't go there until you can use tech 2, however.

eh worked for me when I was starting out. Many times people asking for thorax fits are people who haven't played very long.
And yes it's ancient. I still like it. ôHe who must expend his life to prolong life cannot enjoy it, and he who is still seeking for his life does not have it and can as little enjoy it.ö
