The Shattered Star Confederation would like to announce we are currently recruiting new members from around the world. A member of the Fountain Alliance, we currently conduct operations in both empire space and the Fountain region.
The Eve division of the Shattered Star Confederation, or SSC, is just part of a larger gaming group that was founded back in November of 1997. Since then, we've played many games, and even have our name in the credits for FreeSpace2 for our influence on both the FreeSpace 1 and 2 communities.
What's different about us? Two things. The first is our longevity. Through nearly 6 1/2 years, we've seen many people come and go, and we know how to handle large groups and take care of lots of people. The second is the core of the SSC: the Ideals.
Our Five Ideals are:
-Equality - The SSC is a democracy. Everyone has the right to have their say, and no one member is better than another. Those in leadership positions are there because they have earned the respect and trust of their peers.
-Honor - The way we act privately influences the way we act publicly. Every SSC member is expected to act with honor in all of his or her dealings, both inside and outside of the SSC.
-Integrity - Without Integrity, there can be no trust, and without trust, there can be no friendship. Each member's personal integrity is integral to the stable functioning of the entire group.
-Friendship - Friendship is what keeps us together and what makes games fun.
-Freedom - Freedom is the ideal that ensures that a member's real life is more important than online gaming. Though members are expected to participate, we also understand that real life comes first. "Weekend warriors" are as important to us as full-time players: we play games to have fun as much as we do to win.

Interested? Great! The application process doesn't take too long, but we are fairly selective. It's ok if you're new or if you've been in since beta, the important thing is that you accept and pledge to uphold the Ideals (this part is non-negotiable) and are willing to make some friends and become part of something bigger than just Eve. What we're interested in is participation, not donation--we're looking for people who want to work together for a common goal whether it be mining or combat.

The SSC is a great group of guys to fly with. If you do join up though, watch out for that Porter Hadlend. He's a bit weird.

I've been playing with the SSC for almost five years now. A better group of gamers and friends I have yet to meet online.

Actually I should note here that we are not actively recruiting any more. After about a month of recruiting we feel that we should get people settled in first.
We will still consider potential recruits, but most will not be accepted.

You guys could sit there and flame us until doomsday, but honestly we've had to put up with nitwits like you for seven years now. I'm sure you'll be quick to post that your not, but what other reason would you have to say negative things about a group you obviously know nothing about.
We are =SSC=, we know who we are and invite all people who agree with our ideals to join us. If you don't like it, well then please keep that to yourself. Unless you have something constructive to say, then don't come here looking for a battle of wits. Because we don't fight those who are unarmed.
