Which is better, punisher or crusader? specifically can the crusader fit medium turrets?

No frigate that I know of can fit cruiser-class weapons -- but someone's bound to have done it somewhere, I'm sure.
That said, the Crusader kicks the arse of the Punisher -- compare the stats at http://www.zond3.net/shipvship.aspx -- very nice work by Zond3

You can fit cruiser class weapons on frigates but you have no powergrid left for anything else.
Using Micro Aux Power cores you can get your grid high enough to fit H-50 launchers and some of the smallest of the cruiser class weapons, e.g. Dual 150mm railguns.
This biggest problem is that you have no powergrid to use for anything else, so it is a bit pointless really.
Punisher max. grid = (42+40)*1.25 = 102.5
Crusader max. grid = (40+40)*1.25 = 100
Malediction max. grid = (35+30)*1.25 = 81.25
Tristan max. grid = (35+30)*1.25 = 81.25
Ares max. grid = (30+40)*1.25 = 87.5
Taranis max. grid = (35+30)*1.25 = 81.25
Merlin max. grid = (35+20)*1.25 = 68.75
Crow max. grid = (35+30)*1.25 = 81.25
Raptor max. grid = (30+30)*1.25 = 75
Rifter max. grid = (35+20)*1.25 = 68.75
Claw max. grid = (40+40)*1.25 = 100
Stiletto max. grid = (30+20)*1.25 = 62.5

I would say the crusader is much better than the punisher. Though I don't understand how overloading a ship with one cruiser wpn is the basis for makeing a ship "better"
Gimme 4 med pulses or beams any day over a single Dual.
The crusader can fit 4 turrets compared to the punisher's 3, is faster, and has a much better signature, allowing it to get the first hit.

I *THINK* he means mounting medium beam lasers, which is actually a frigate class weapon. Heavy beams are cruiser class.
*IF* that's what he meant, and if he didn't the whole discussion is stupid, a Crusader would kick a Punishers butt.

I'm more interested in whether a crusader would stand a chance against a Gallente elite frigate with modal neutron blasters...
Quite obviously the punisher is garbage when compared to crusader or malediction for that matter.

I *think* the crusader has a faster base speed (455) than either gallente interceptor. So, he might be able to control range better and stay outside blaster optimal. However, the missiles might be an equalizer. It'd be a damn good fight.

While my taranis does do a staggering amount of damage with modal neutron, about 70per shot with a 1.8s rof, I also have a set of proto rails that I can put on too that do quite a bit of damage too.
