My little region of 0.0 has an infestation of macro Ravens in a little side wing. They appear to cloak whenever local changes.
Any suggestions for catching these things? What a pain in the ass.

Use a translator and talk to them in their own language, pretending you're a farmer too, and you want to work together to be safer or whatever. Might work.

It would be pretty obvious that you are using a translator...
TBH there is not much that you can do. Wait for them to leave the system and catch them on a gate?
If they logoffski you can try to put down a bubble in belt they were in and wait.
The ones that SS and cloak are very hard to kill.

Get them to pay you 100m a month for free ratting in "your system".Then when they trust you then blow them up.
edit: im not sure this is legal tho, so just camp in a recon ship and eventually they'll start ratting again. After many many hours tho.

That might work until you realize you just accepted isk from a farmer and now ccp can ban you

its actually within game rules to accept isk from farmers in the form of ransom. So basically kill them anyways and ccp will look the other way a bit.

Problem is , ISK transactions are reverted once the farmers do get banned...

I didn't think 'farming' was illegal.
If they are playing and actually controlling the characters, in CCP's mind there is not problem. After all, who doesn't have 2 or more accounts running at the same time legitimately. Its the account sharing that enables them to be on 23/7 that is going to be their ban (if they are)
Macroing on the other hand is another story.
If your sure these people are just farming, getting them to pay a 'freedom of movement' fee would be ok, and not deductible by CCP, because they are not doing anything against TOS (essentially).
**Although, its stretching the limits of the TOS and Credibility of the player farming in question.

If they cloak there's not much you can do. If they log off however, you can probe them down and scramble them. They will disappear anyway. Then, leave the system and wait for them to come back into the game. Enter their system once more. Ofc the farmer will now log off again, but now has an aggression timer and will stay visible (and killable) for at least 15 minutes. Have fun...
This strategy does require good probing skills.

It's half luck, half being really damned fast with the scanner. I used to love chasing these guys all over Venal, Fountain, Providence, Delve, Period Basis, pretty much anywhere I happened to be in 0.0
The easiest systems to catch them in are those with a large number of belts surrounding the gates, that way you can get a pinpoint scan on them before they've seen you in local for more than 10 seconds. And they actually aren't macros, as far as I can tell there are actually people there; I've never seen a macro get used to seeing the same person flying back and forth through their system (hoping he'd assume I was hauling **** and would ignore me), end up getting ganked, and then smack local with squares. Seems to be pretty human behavior to me
