Hi, I've just started playing Eve and yesterday I quit a mission. Perhaps stupidly I assumed that the agent would just offer it again since I'd done quite a few missions for him already but it doesn't seem that he has any to offer me anymore. Just wondering what happens now, have I permanently ****ed him off or is there a way to redeem myself?

you have to wait a while.
in the meantime click on the show info for the corp the agent works for.
and look up all other agents you can work for :)
or just run around and find something :)

By civilian gear, you mean stuff like the rail gun off the caldari beginner ship?
The problem is that on the mission I quit, I kept on running out of ammunition towards the end of the mission (using a Condor with 2 standard missile launchers and a 125mm Carbine Railgun).

Well I can only carry 60 missiles per launcher and 80 ammo for the rail gun. Most of the ships in the mission are easily killed by 1 missile but theres alot of them and then theres a few ships which require about 3 missiles and a few rail gun shots to kill. By the time I get the the "boss" at the end of the mission, on my best try, I only have about 10 missiles in each launcher which don't seem to be enough.

OMG!
that's the issue!
oh good that's got an easy fix :)
just put more missiles and ammo in your cargohold of the ship :) you can reload in space.

hi, sorry to hijack the topic (kinda)
however i have a problem with that mission.
i never finished the 10-part tutorial. I completed 3/10 or something, then got recruited into a corp and didnt bother with missions for a while. I once got an EVE-mail from that agent about how dissapointed he/she was and thought it was ok.
Now i want to finish the mission but everytime i do missions i check back with the agent and it still wont let me finish. Is there any way i can complete the 10-part mission?
p.s. the reason i want to is A. because i feel it cant hurt to do the entire tutorial and B. My friend said the 10-part mission gave him an implant. Is this true? :) |

I have the same problem. My agent will not give the the rest of the 10 missions any more, accusing me that I turned down a mission but I can not remember this. I must have a mistake somehow without noticing.

Edited by: Venkul Mul on 31/12/2007 00:26:54 To reply about the questions about the "quitted" missions:
If you quit a mission in a chain of mission or refuse the next mission you close forever that chain of missions. If the missions were given by a normal agent he will still speak with you afterwards (unless it is done too often, it is possible to lose an agent after a long sequence of failures). If the agent is an event agent, like the agent giving you the sting of 10 mission in the starting station he will never have a new mission to give you. You should go to another agent to get new missions.
On the bright side every race has 3 agent giving a string of 10 missions, 1 for each of the starting schools (they are in one of the starting school stations, 1.0 or 0.9 systems with only the starting school station), so hunting around a bit and looking the starting schools corporations you should be capable of finding the agents.
You can do the mission for each of the schools and even for the schools of other races, if your standing with the race isn't very bad. It is a good system to get some little positive standing with another race, as the last mission of the string is a storyline, giving some faction standing. Each string of mission give at least 1 frigate and most of them give at least 1 implant.
If you get problems with the villard whells look the bio of the character Villard Whells in game, he has put up some good instruction.
P.S.: if you want to do the starting mission and are still a new player, you can try petitioning. For new players GM are generally willing to reset the mission.
Doing the same kind of mistakes when you are experienced players will generally receive less sympathetics replies.

Yeah. To do the missions for another schools Event Agent you just need to build your standing with that school. You can do that by doing the 2 Mission sets for the Tutorial Agents for that School. There are usually at least 3 of these Tutorial Agents - one is located with the Event Agent that gives out the 10 mission set - the others are off in some .9 base the school owns. Just do a show info on that school, see which bases they have in .9 systems and go visit them.
The Tutorial and Event Agents are NOT listed in the Agents Tab for a school you have to go to the bases and look for them.
And yeah ... don't feel bad ... I did the same thing with one of mine. I didn't complete the set early because I had to build an afterburner and had no idea how to do it. Then I didn't get back in time and ... got that little nasty gram from the agent. So (recently) - I just went to another factions agent and did the missions for them.
For completing these 10 mission sets - you get implants and some frigates appropriate to your School. So - by doing the missions for the different schools you can get several implants.
