Although it looks as if it's empty and it's been ruptured, my advice would be not to go too close to it," he said. "It's a fairly light construction so you don't want it rolling on top of someone, and with that sort of thing you can never tell.
"My advice would be to just observe it from a distance."

It's a beer fermentation tank.

My best guess, is that it was on it's way to CCP when it fell overboard.
Like they say, its cheaper to make your own when your company and staff are the sole reason for the beer shortage in your country. |

lol, they're "19- by 70-foot stainless steel tanks--each weighing 78,000 pounds--"
That's a LOT of beer
Really though, how does something that large just fall off a ship without someone noticing then turning the ship around or at least reporting it to the coast guard (or whomever). Surely that wold be a hazard for shipping lanes?

Things fall off ships alot more than most people realise and I mean ALOT.
Generally it's dark and there's a moment of "What was that?" with a reply of "No idea, just ignore it..."

Those tanks were going to be used for Coors beer. No wonder one of them jumped ship! If the CCP folks are drinking Coors now, we're all doomed.

Of course there is a link to the right with as title "Beach container mystery resolved" ;) It explains the tank is a fermentation tank from Coors. Still, damn funny though
