Hi,
I am a fairly new player.(3 months) I am looking for a hulk setup designed for drone region. As someone who has never been to drone regions, I am quite unsure how to setup my hulk. I will have people around me to help to kill the rats, however, I am afraid of losing my ship in a matter of seconds.
I have come up with the following setup.
Please let me know what you think and advise on possible improvements. (I got Elect V, Engineering V, Mining Upgrades IV).
Highs:
Strip Miner X3
Mediums:
Gistii B-Small Shield Booster x1 (cant afford Gistii A at the moment)
Invul Field II x1
Photon Scattering Field II x1
Heat Dissipation Field II x1
Lows:
MLU II x1
Cap Relay II x1
This leaves me with 79/83/73/82 resistances.
Any suggestions to set up a hulk for drone regions is welcome but please don't suggest any module that costs hundreds of millions as I do not have that kind of budget.

I would drop the photon scattering field and heat dissipation field for a cap recharger 2 and a survey scanner (or another mid of your choice), the invul field is a good choice and in all honesty a gistii type a is essential because it really is amazing, i love mine on my hulk, its so much better than any other same type module, in the lows id drop the cap relay and go with a second MLU, this is the standard hulk setup effectively and works remarkably well for me, i can tank bs spawns with cruiser escorts in 0.0 for a decent amount of time and with good cap skills the tank is effectively perma when not running the lasers as well

Well, I'll go do some mining and try to buy a Gistii A-Small Shield booster, it indeed has amazing attributes.
About the rest of the setup, doesn't that leave you with quite weak EM and Therm. resistances(especially EM)? But if you say, you can tank BS spawns with that in drone regions, I suppose it works.  I'd love to have a survey scanner on my hulk, so that's great news.

With decent skills my resists are : em:56.25% exp:82.5% kin:73.5% therm:65%, does the job ok with the shield booster

I use a damage control as the hulk as so much structure and the resistances from the damge control stack well.
The problem with the drones is they can do any type of damge and you never really know what spawn might appear.
