Yup, pretty irritating. Also, that with Advanced Devices on I can't bring up the options menu by pressing escape any more.
And that EVE is limiting my 'windowed mode' resolutions to 1280*1024 and 1600*1200.

you can edit the window resolution in your prefs.ini in the cache folder... I'm running desktop at 1280x1024 and Eve in a window at 1280x960.

I don't seem to get the so called 'pling'... maybe I need to turn my sound up... or perhaps it is music related, I do not have music on at all.
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

Yeah, I'm gettiing it, seems to be related to the weapons flash (I guess meaning they're unavailable) as soon as it stops flashing you get the "pling"

I simply *hate* this PLING! Hopefully it will be removed soon (and not soon(TM)) or at least I can turn it off...

I would like to point out that the pling also bring the flashing modules to stop flashing. This leads me to suspect that you cannot activate modules until the pling. I have also noticed that the autopilot only engages after the pling.
It's a nice enough sound, but if I have to listen to it too much, I think that the sound should perhaps be reduced to something a bit more ambient.

And the music changes sometimes when pling occurs. Even in the start and the middle of a song. I guess it's back to winamp as a player again.

That 'pling' is the sound when the module check is finished. It checks that all modules that were online before the jump are still online and that all skills are applied to them.
Actually I really like that sound.

Its the sound of your modules coming online. They are taken offline after each jump and then come back on. Everytime one turns on, it "plings."

Edited by: Grey Area on 18/03/2004 22:29:56 Why "Pling". They managed to get that woman to say "You cannot set a waypoint to the same location twice", so why couldn't they get her to say "Module check complete"? And even then, and option to turn it OFF would be nice. ========================================= * I'm ALLOWED to cheat. I'm a STARSHIP. * ========================================= |

I'd say an option for a lot of the changes ccp have done in the past, and probably in the future.
