Hi, I spend a lot of time exploring these days..
Now, on a seemingly random schedule, my probes stop being displayed as 'globes' on my system map view. They still work, still scan etc, I just can't see them anymore on the system map (f10,not f11)when I click on them. Annoying to see the least and actually a problem if it happens when I'm trying to place the probes for the initial system scan as some systems are VERY tight for placement.
No clue if it also happens for ship probes as I haven't tried, but happens 'reliably' (though still randomly) when I'm using exploration probes.
I haven't seen rhyme or reason to the pattern yet, and only logging seems to fix it.
IE, it's done it again as I was typing this message...
Any ideas?

Sorry, I should have specified I do that already to get the globes to show up on my map (I think that's the only way to get the globes unless I've missed something obvious)...
For whatever reason, the bug effects that 'selection showing the bubbles' randomly.

Make sure you CTRL-Click or SHIFT-Click all your probes to select them, or the bubbles vanish. I got confused once when mine disappeared too, and realized it was because I had destroyed one to deploy a smaller one while leaving the longer-lasting Quest probes elsewhere in the system up.

I've had the same sort of problem, no idea what causes it, or of any good solution. For me it's not always every probe, but more often just one. (I haven't actually explored since Trinity, and I was sort of hoping it got fixed.)
It's not merely a matter of selecting them. They'll still be selectable on the scan window, but won't show up on the solar map, either as range bubbles or as probe icons, selected or not.
I'd like to file a bug report, but it's a little embarrassing putting one in for something both intermittent and unpredictable. If anybody has any idea what triggers the problem, I'd love to hear about it so I could write something up. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

i used to have this problem all the time. I haven't had this happen in a while. It is definately some sort of bug and it's irritating as hell.
Just pay attention to where you drop your probes and guesstimate as best you can.
it sucks...sorry...
