So Top Gear is the old lady's new favorite show. "Who is this Stig fellow? He seems nice." Cute. Problem is, she deleted them after she watched them! All I know is, there was a show about caravaning (whatever that is), and F1 cars racing indoors. Now it's gone. All gone. No turkey! No turkey sandwiches! No turkey salad! No turkey gravy! Turkey Hash! Turkey a la King! Or gallons of turkey soup! Gone, ALL GONE!
All I'm left with on Tivo is four hours of Discover Diamonique. Doubleyou Tee Eff. ----- TANSTAAFL

They're repeated ad infinitum on a channel called Dave on freeview. I've seen the caravan one repeated millions of times on there. Alternatively, you can download them if you know where to look.

Are you in the UK?
I bought a network card for my Tivo from these people: http://www.9thtee.com/tivocachecard.htm
UK (Series 1) Tivos are supported.
With TivoWeb+ you can then undelete shows that someome has deleted. Plus a million other handy things. Totally opens up a new lease of life for the Tivo.
Mine also emails me every morning with a list of shows recorded, shows it's about to record, conflicts, temperature etc.!

Edited by: Fink Angel on 31/12/2007 11:33:24 Yeah it's a very good HDD recorder. Tivo licence the software for manufacturers to make the boxes. Still very popular in the USA but Thomson stopped making the boxes in the UK in around 2002. Primarily they failed here IMO due to very poor advertising.
There's still a big fan base in the UK hoping someone else will pick up the gauntlet and start to make them again, but meanwhile Sky are hoovering up the market with Sky+.

I'm in the US, and actually my Tivo isn't a real Tivo, it's a HDD recorder built into my satellite box. But "Tivoed" has become common usage here in the States. I figured it was everywhere.
Thanks for the linkages. I tried torrenting borrowing some about a year ago, but had poor results. That was before BBC America started showing it on a regular basis. It was all "Ground Force" and that show with the two drunk broads. ----- TANSTAAFL

Huzzah! I have new Top Gear!
Apparently HRH Jeremy does not know how to bleed a brake line. I suppose that's slightly more acceptable than not being able to reverse a trailer with the smallest vehicle ever made. Hulloah! Double opposite to start, and then follow it back. Almost as easy as, oh, idk, bleeding brakes. Oops, guess they can't do that either.
In the Americas, we're innately endowed with such important skills as: reversing trailers, bleeding brakes, and rebuilding pushrod engines with no more than a flathead screwdriver. Also we can catch fishes.
PS: What's up with spanners, anyway. They're not metric, they're not SAE, they're just... numbered. WTF is a #7 spanner? ----- TANSTAAFL
