How do you get things threw research agents. I finally found a couple research slots. I have figured out the ME PE aspects of bps. The copy aspect of reserach slots is pretty self explanitory. But all this jazz about reserach agents, research slots, and getting stuff is beyond me. Can someone be so kind to explain what is going on? Thanks.

Edited by: Barbicane on 18/03/2004 16:25:35 Researched agents are only used to get tech2 blueprints. If you are new to research, you should start by buying some cheap tech1 blueprints on the market to experiment with. Get, for example, a blueprint for the type of ammo you usually use.

Yes I have. I have a missle launcher and a frigate research as we speak. But how do you get bp's from a research slot? How do you research agents? What skills do you need?

The skill tree shows what skills are linked to each other, but allow me to elaborate.
You need science level 5 and then either electronics, mechanic or engineering at level 5 for the research skills (each represent a group). Each research agent has a number of skills (check agent info) and you will need these skills to use him/her. After that I dont know. I'm getting engineering to level 5 right now so I suppose I will know soon enough

Research slots and research agents have nothing in common. Research slots are simply the method for researching or copying a bp original that you have in your possession. A research agent is one you do missions for in the hope that you will get a bp original from them at some point in the future. Also, do not change research agents once you have started with them or you loose the research points you have accumulated. Also, dont do missions for other agents while you are accumulating research points or you will loose them. Hope this helps

Mr Rogers. Are you serious? You mean to tell me that once I've started research I cannot do missions for that level 3 agent I've been doing cargo runs for in the last week without losing all progress?

No, I think he means do not try to start the same type of project with another agent.
Now that Research Project Management is out, you should be able to handle more then one research project based on the level of the skill obviously (or so the theory goes at least)

RESEARCH agents.
Which are different from ordinary agents.
