So after afew days of putting up with this, I'm posting.
it seems almost every time I play eve, the client will either lock up my pc or shut it down/reset for no reason. this usually happens just after i login on a character or out of the blue after playing for awhile.
Thoughts, suggestions?

I've been trying to get a response on the forum since the patch. Seemed ok for about a week.
I had to lower down the CPU clock to less than normal. WOrked ok. Then these last week, it started again. Frequent CCP.EXE errors. Sometimes it will crash the desktop, sometimes it will freeze the client. Blue.dll etc.AND it will reset my PC on occasion.
I had aldy lost 300m while pvping and could have gotten out if it didn't freeze!
Other times, it would just reset the PC and pray that the enemy havent blown your ship to bits. This is becoming to the point of being unbearable. The logs are not even saved as the client crashes.
Another annoying thing is that after the crash it will sometimes reset settings. EULA comes out and voila.. all your folders are gone !
Come on CCP !@! At least fix this and while your at it gime back my ship it got pwned by "CCP.EXE has caused an error!"
There are too many ppl having the same issues to be more of a just coincidence. I never had so many problems playing EVE before this new expansion is really murder for me, as every time i undock i have to pray really hard it wont crash.
I dont run the premium content either so what gives..I thought you guys said it wasn't going to be a problem!
I run an old PC: P4 2.8 GHZ Directx 9.0C an ATI9250 (which worked without problems before trinity) 1GB of memory (tested no errors) 80GB hd (no errors) |

Edited by: Heyallo Stylez on 03/01/2008 14:24:23 I run this as a PC:
AMD Athlon64 x2 4200+ (2.2ghz) 2gb DDR SDRAM NVidia GeForce 8800GTS DX9.0C(NOV 2007) 750gb hdd
And this BSoD'ing is beginning to peeve me off, I've done everything except formating my PC. and thats a 4hour format with a 750gb HDD

and at this point I'm considering formatting my Computer and reinstalling everything to see if the problem continues. probably a waste of my time but hey, its a potential solution if its windows or software related.

I had lots of blue screens a few months ago, every session. Turns out it was the Realtek on-board sound. No amount of driver updates could fix it.
Installing an M-Audio card fixed it completely. I haven't had a blue screen in EVE since then.

Edited by: Shattered Wolf on 04/01/2008 05:25:37 I crash daily. During an "EVE Day", where I just kick back and play EVE for... like... 10 hours... It's not uncommon for me to have my game shut down, for no reason, over 50 times.
On average for a 1 hour playing session, I can crash at least 8 times.
Sadly, I've gotten used to it. However, I no longer do PvP or Missions and I can't travel through Low Sec. So, I'm stuck on this island area of about 4 high sec systems paranoid as all hell to jump into a camped low sec system in a shuttle (Implants man!).
My solution?
I set a 37 day skill and played Call of Duty 4. You know, 1 of about 6 other games that work without issue on my computer ^.^
...Seriously, what's the deal with this Trinity stuff? I thought it would be... I dunno.... cool....
I would petition it, but I get the same respose I've gotten before: Update all drivers, update this, update that, reboot, update this, reboot that. Well, I think ATi and Realtek think I'm leeching off their site...
hmm.... I just thought... instead of playing CoD 4, I can just read the forums all day and laugh at the saps who are all having the same problems!!!! MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....
...I think I'm going to go cry now...

Today i lost yet another ship to the CCP.EXEfile has caused an error "your freaking dead. That's two BSes abt 500m. Session changes were made long after i deagressed and according to gamelogs NOTHING HAPPENED..in the server log monitor it says multiple errors. AND after game freezes it can go either way. Either your client completely freezes like for me today and nothing happens and when u relog ur in a pod or it will crash and u cant restart the game until its too late i.e. restart windows.
Of course as usual my petition was the usual "love to help you, but our logs show nothing and game's not broken blablablabla from the GM/
Here are examples, it just happens so randomly you never know when it will happen..might be as trivial as opening up a market or incredible frustrating when trying to jump and u die.
CCPEXE FILE YOUR DEAD!
Verification errors *random*
I was so frustrated I got my third and final BS into a suicide trap after that. |
