Can't fit ion cannons/neutron blasters/425mm railguns and also get a workable shield-tanking/armour-tanking setup on my Megathron 
Been messing around for an hour and a half with various setups and the only half decent one appears to be:
7 Ion Cannons + 1 Arbalest Standard Launcher
1 Heavy Cap Booster, 1 F-90, 1 MWD, and warp-jammer
1 Thermic Armour hardener, 1 Explosive Armour hardener, 1 Kinetic Armour hardener, 1 large armour repairers, 1 cap relay 1, and 2 RCU's.
As you can imagine, it is a rather crap setup.

remove that 1 cap relay, fitt a RCU instead! also remove the Thermal hardner and fitt another armor repairer

Yes, take out the Relay and one of the RCUs and put in two Power Diags instead. Unless you don't have enough Cpu?
Besides, isn't the Blasterthron supposed to outlast the enemy by out-damaging, not out-tanking it?

drop it to 6 ions, use 2 modal neutron mediums?
also more cap relays... dno how , but do. :D

I dont use them myself, but from some experience getting my a$$ kicked by them on chaos id say that armor tanking or shiled tanking is rather beside the point.
I fought a guy who concentrated on maximizing damage done with a blasterthron while I was flying a shield tanked typhoon (a decent shield tanker) and he burned me down in 45 seconds and I doubt I had gotten him down to 50% armor.

The Megathron could indeed use 50 additional CPU, concerning Hybrid weapons eat so much CPU.

That would be quite an achievement as iirc the Megathron only has 7 turret points and 2 launcher points

Nevermind - I'm gonna go all out attack
I'm going to try using 7 anode neutron particle cannons though sometime - medium blasters.
Shove a crapload of cap relays in lo + 2 lrg armour repairers and some warpjammer/webs, mwd, sensor booster in meds.........

I gave up on 7 turrets and went with 6 and two launchers (heavy).

All out would be modal mega neutron particle accelerators ;P not anode mediums.
Anyhows if you're going to armor tank the megathron and use blasters as well you're going to have to accept that you can't fit 2 large armor repairers. The MWD and the heavy cap injector use too much grid on their own so you have to just accept you can only have 1.
It doesn't matter anyway as its been pointed out already the whole idea is to kill your opponent before they kill you. not to outlast them by tanking dmg. The tanking part is just to help you ensure survivability upon approach and make sure yuo have enought time to do enough DOT to kill them.
I tried a blasterthron setup with 2 large armor repairers and all that other crud and I threw it in the bin after flying it around for 4 hours. Total crap.
