Hi Everyone, I have a amd athlon64 2.1mhz, 1gigram, 7800gs, i have installed the lastest ubuntu/wine/vidcard version over the weekend, but eve says my pc can not run premium. before i installed ubuntu i had windowsXP and it ran with trinity just fine, so i know this pc can run it.

The Linux client will NOT run Premium whatever you do, since it's limited to Classic for now. If you do however run in Wine, you should do it just fine. I guess it might be a driver issue, but shouldn't be. Did you install the full Premium client in Wine, not a patched one? I just did it myself, and although my FPS is abysmal, it does run with some bugs. Gonna get poking now to touch it up.

ok, im in eve. in kubuntu with wine-0.9.52, 8800 gts 320 mb ram, nvidia driver version 169.07 installed via Envy, http://www.albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html GET IT! DO IT ENJOY! I went from 5fps with shaders at 3. to 145fps after that driver update. Once i Installed all this stuff, setup sound. I now run eve at 1600x full sound- TeamSpeak-Xmms. At about 65fps to 170fps.
also, it may be better to run with no shaders. as u can get a massive fps boost without it on.
Good luck fellas, If i can do it. So can you.

Which version of wine, out of interest? Also have you done any "need for speed" tweaks in regedit to it (yes, wine has a program called regedit). The usual ones to add are:
OffScreenRenderingMode = fbo PixelShader = opengl
and if you do happen to occasionally compile old version of wine (sub-0.9.49) throw UseGLSL = true in there as well; I keep it around for that reason only as its on by default in newer versions.
You can find a better guide to the registry settings by (hopefully) searching the forums for "OffScreenRendering" as I can't see that sucker appearing too often :)

delete the downloaded regedit
regedit is installed with wine, just run "wine regedit" and it opens ----------- - server side event filtering for turret and effects - module grouping for less server calls - fix grid loading isses - document the SM3 detection |

So how do you get past the "cannot connect" bug with wine? I tried adding 87.whatever.whatever.whatever localhost to /etc/hosts and it had zero effect.

There's no more need to it. New wine release(and wine-git) works almost at 100% with no patch and no hosts/resolv tweak. Just use 0.9.52(I think this is the version) or wine-git, copy arial.ttf to c_drive/windows/font , put your helmet and ride the bike..ermm..ship

Yep, I've also got premium working with ubuntu and wine 0.9.52
However, setting an anti-aliasing over-ride in nvidia settings causes the client to not start. Any of you had luck getting AA working?

Also, it appears that stations are invisible currently, heh.
This issue possibly can be resolved by running Premium without HDR and Shadows enabled. Also, try running it without any regedit tweaks of any kind in wine .9.52. You may have to delete the evesettings folder and try again.
