Current Situation:
Item available on market 3 at 15 isk 7 at 25 isk 1 at 600 isk
Buyer wants to buy 10 items, so he puts in order for 10 at 25 isk. He gets filled for exactly 10 at 25. (and the guy asking for 15 gets extra 10)
Another scenario: Guy wants to buy the one for 15, but (like I do all the time) types in 51. System fills the order at 51 for the guy asking 15.
That just does not make sense to me.
Proposed: If you fill in an amount and quantity greater then whats available, treat it as a bracket order. Filling up to the quantity and price. Buyer orders 10 at 25 and should be filled at 3x15 and 7x25. This also somewhat protects the buyer from his own typing errors.
I find this happens a lot to me when I'm setting up buy orders. I kindly request this to be taken into consideration as a common sense fix / enhancement for those wanting to buy in bulk and not pay a premium... think bracket order. The bonus is the limiting of damage done to a trader who accidently fills in the wrong quantity.
Cheers...

Hmm.
Yes, that does make sense. I had to read it over about four times because you wrote it in a pretty confusing way but I got it. I like.
Definitely /signed.

Let me try that again:
Why can't we have a market fill order, where you type in how many you want and the max price you are willing to pay, then have the system buy up to that quantity and price.
And please, if we type in the wrong amount, DON'T fill the over at the max price as this is a typo, and not intended.

Perhaps put a "I'll pay up to this much" box, and it buys items from the cheapest up to your price. (Up to the amount you actually want, obviously) ----------------------------------------------

Yes I agree. When you do a buy order with duration "immediate" it should fill like you describe instead of just giving away your money.
