I have some questions about trading. I am totaly new to this, but i have the basic eve and market knowledge.
I want to get started and earn isk frome this so i dont need to do missions as i do now. Hopefully it wont take as mutch time aswell.
But where to start. To me it looks like trading is devided in a few categorys.
Margin trading, trade with low isk items, buy/sell huge amounts and totaly get a nice profit frome the little profit frome eatch item.
Generall trading, trade moduls frome 1mil - 20mil. Keep to one place, buy/sell as fast as you can.
Region trading, all that you can think of, buy with region buy orders and spend hours hauling (or contracts) to resell everything at a hub.
Move trading, move items frome one place to another and fill a demand or just resell for a bit higher price if possible.
So it sounds easy so far. But after speaking to a few of my friends i get the feeling that the competition is very tight and it is hard to actually make "the" profit.
And they tend to mention one thing alot, "DO RESEARCH, RESEARCH". But what is that? Sure i decide to do research on 10 items, i make notes and watch how they are selling for maybe a week. Then i can se if i can make any profit frome it.
So with this thread i hope that everyone will reveal there deepest trading secreats so it helps me get started to trade Nah ofc you cant, but i dont know where to start. EVE is huge, market is even bigger and after hours looking at things in a market hub i cant rly se the obvious that some ppl tend to know and tend to se.
So anyone that can make my day? Thanks for me

Buy your goods at a low price, then sell them at a higher price.
Please don't tell anyone else. This will just be our secret.

nub u gave away the sekrit OMG
Anyway, aside from giving away secrets the best advise I can give you is to steer clear of Jita (at least when you're starting out). Learn the ropes in one of the smaller hubs, where competition is not as violent.

Yes, avoid Jita because that's where everyone else is making all their money.
Seriously though, Jita is either the best or worst place to be, depending on what you're trying to do.

Check attribute implants. Ppl get them from agents all over universe and often they sell them to any available buy order, rather than haul them to local hub for better price. Another good article for beginner strading are skillbooks (ppl are lazy, hub stations rarely are "school" stations with NPC supply of skillbooks....). Or named modules, ppl get them from missions and often sell for whatever they get.
Buy low via buy orders, sell high via sell orders.

would i be doing it all wrong if i take a system with good flow on the market, but not one of the biggest hubs, ie. 100-200 ppl in on prime time. put up buy orders on alot of stuff and then resell?

I think you are confusing the OPs perfectly legitimate and reasonable question with a request for someone to post a pathetically useless smart ass one liner.
Think before you post please.

I can understand that my thread is a bit stupid in some eyes. After years in eve doing alot of pvp, mining, building and im good at it all. But trading have always been the thing i cant master, i tend to not se what is so clear for some. I belive it is becouse i dont have the RL knowledge or rly the interesst as some have, i guess.
It would be greate to have a RL friend to point with the hole hand what im doing wrong.

It's really not that hard to trade successfully. The golden rule is the oft stated "time vs isk" mantra. You will get better at it over time - you just need to start buying items and selling them. It's really that simple. Don't worry if your not making billions right away - just have fun trading and making some isk.
Like everything in Eve, "trading successfully" just requires a little patience and some energy on your part. It's not actually that difficult. If you make some ISK - you;ve done it right. Over time you will refine your methods and find a way to increase your time/isk :)

Here's a freebie: run a few missions out of a popular station and see what kind of loot's a common drop to those agents.

Ok.. My starting out secret... AGAIN. Pick a ship you love to fly in missions. Check out the setups forum for the avg setups pilots are using or one you prefer to use. Set all those items in your quickbar tab in the market browser. Now just travel around high sec in each region taking note of the buy/sell price for each item. Now you know where to buy your items for the lowest price and where they sell for the highest. And if you buy too many to get rid of, you have extra for when your personal ship blows up in a mission or gate camp, so it isn't really a wasted purchase.
After awhile add more mods that get your attention to the list and before you know it you have found your store.
