Well as you may have guessed I'm a Caldari ex-interceptor pilot. I've been out of the game for nearly 6 months and have returned to find that much has changed. No longer part of a Corp that needs an inty and I've found that there doesn't seem to be much interest in pilots like myself in the overall picture anymore. Any suggestions on what kind of ship may be useful for a pilot with skills such as myself or PvP/0.0 space? Mostly just propulsion skills, but I got some jamming skills too. Been told Interdictors by some, specifically the Onyx, but I'm not too sure if propulsion skills are really what's needed for such a task; the Onyx isn't a particularly fast ship, though it's not entirely slow either.

Well nano gangs are all the rage these days.

What exactly do you mean? Just saying nano's are the rage doesn't help me too much, though I do appreciate the reply.

Every gang needs tacklers and inties are still the backbone of that (except gate camps in empire). Although dictors and heavy dictors are becoming more common compared to 6 months ago.
But if you like to go ZOOOOOMZOOOOOOM but something a bit bigger then a frigate then take a look at the minmatar t2 cruisers like the vagabond and huginn. --- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs |

MWD ships with nanos and overdrives that move damn fast and are agile.
Vagabond is one of the favorites, but there are a lot of cruiser class ships that can be nano'd, and some BS's too. |

Edited by: SylvrDragon on 03/01/2008 18:22:47 All my training is Caldari in origin though; both in starship command and in the fact that I'm missile oriented. I'd have to start practically from scratch, if not entirely from so, to switch over to Minmatar.

Well minmatar can shield tank on quite a few ships at least :).
But ohwell it's your choice what you want to do of course. If you do decide to go minmatar don't start a new char but just cross train (unless you take 2 accounts). A lot of support skills are always needed like engineering and electronics. --- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs |

I'm just saying it would take weeks to get my starship command and gunnery skills into place.

As a crow pilot, you would fit in with our corp very well. We run interceptor, nano ship gangs in 0.0 (Venal) quite often, as in almost every day. You would be welcome there. Contact Kaleesh and tell him that Dizeezer Velar told you about us.

sylvrdragon,
no need to respec. thats just craziness. if you still enjoy flying your interceptor, you might find it more enjoyable to seek out a corp who appreciates you skill set rather than spending that time "in limbo" fretting over your less-then-great HAC[k] skillz.
you are needed and valuable - its not you - you're just in the wrong part of jungle looking for the wrong tree.
good luck in your search.

Go for a nano cerb of navy caracal if you need something bigger. Nano navy caracal can work well because of it's higher speed (with MWD and speed mods/rigs) and extra grid and isn't a huge amount more expensive (only about 10mil)
P.S. I'm considering selling my rigged navy caracal sometime so contact me if your interested .

Thanks Jongalt and Dizeezer Velar. It's good to have some assurance to the fact that I'm not entirely worthless. lol

"Weeks" isn't that long in the scheme of things. Try training Racial BS5 (30+ days) and getting Tech2 large guns of some kind.
And no, you will not be better off 'starting from scratch' because all the electronics, engineering, and mechanic skills (at a minimum) are useful for all races and that's a 'few weeks' right there to get those all back up on a new character.
