Harvester drones do not drop anymore! They used to drop in packs of thousands, that is why there are still a few on the market. Also they dropped only from a certain mining corp, i don't remember the name. --
Evemail me, if my name is used as guarantor! |

Cheers, two people confirming this now.

Time to go extracy my harvesters from Curse and sell them at a huge markup then :)
The real payday on these spawns was right at the start of the game when they could drop absolutely anything that was in the NPC market table in the stations within a certain price range. At a time when Phased Plasma M BPOs were not available any other way this was quite useful. Unfortunately, having a drop of several hundred Spaceship Command skillpacks wasn't |

Originally by: Myyona Edited by: Myyona on 05/01/2008 10:07:04 An old trick was to set your personal standings towards the NPC owners of the station, either positive or negative, and the NPC haulers would then be flagged if they belong to the station or not. Only if the hauler belongs to the station will the sentries open fire.
I heard that you can be unlucky and attack haulers belonging to CONCORD which will trigger a sec hit response.
As already mentioned, this can no longer be done. Anyone have anything to contribute that has invested time in this activity recently?
Also, if you spent time doing this outside Concord owned stations, what else should you expect.... simply choose any other NPC corp stations as your choice of ground, just make sure neither destination nor origin station belong to Concord.
Err, i have done this recently (3 months ago) and this trick does work. Set the standings to +10, then turn off 'show high standings' in overview. The haulers either disappear or don't.

I think this is an overlooked area, so I am going to share my experience farming the Police! I haven't done this since trinity so lets hope it still works.
1) Find the filth (either at a gate or use an outlaw to spawn them at a nice safespot ;) it's pretty funny doing this at a gate though)
2) Take a nice sniping battleship with zero tank and balls of steel
3) From a distance of > 100km start shooting the police BUT do not shoot the Police Commander/s (they don't drop anything anyway IIRC), only his sidekicks.
4) Have an alt in a tractor beaming loot ship pick up all the drops.
The police will keep respawning, with a good sniping battleship you can take them out quicker than they spawn (killing one every 20s or so), so you may like to spawn a few more groups and invite some friends to the party.
Every kill drops a can. This is a can baiters dream, what noob can resist 100 cans of loot at a gate, lol
This does make 20M an hour. Kiss goodbye to your Navy standings.

If this is the case, then please inform me on how to set standings with an NPC corp.
I like the idea of police farming though This is more like it!

To set standings with the npc corp just do a show info on them, standings tab, 'relationship' and set the 'Father Dibbles > Caldari Navy' standing towards them to +10 or -10 or whatever. They don't get 'flagged' like player ships but do appear/dissappear with the different overview settings.
As for the police, no the sentry guns won't shoot you. There is a difference between faction police and concord. If an outlaw enters the system he will spawn some faction police, if he then warps to a safespot they will follow him. Then you can let them pop your shuttle and dock and the police will remain at the safespot.
You then need an non-outlaw character (or FoF missiles!) to start killing them but DO NOT GET within 100k of the police (110km to be safe) and do not shoot the Police Commissioners (not Commanders as I said before, my mistake, you wont die you will just get jammed for 1 cycle and have a permenantly aggroed Police Commissioner chasing you).
As I said I have not done this since Trinity but it should still work. Loot looks a bit rubbishy at first but soon build ups (you get a lot of tritanium) and you get the meta 3/4 magnetic field stabilisers fairly often.

Yea, just had a fiddle, thats awesome abba, many thanks. Problem was that there was no 'set standings' function like there usually is for other players, however you can bring up a right click menu when inside the standings tab (I almost posted again saying wtf ). Definitely need a sticky now, because that also confirms alot of other people's suggestions in this thread despite my counter-arguments that it wasnt, and also takes the guess work out of same-faction targets. So to those people, I stand corrected, and apologise!
Also, the method of killing faction police is truly awesome, gonna have a bash at it this evening. I always assumed that Concord had their way for Outlaws, so I never ventured into high sec when my sec status was low.... guess that puts the nail in the coffin about assumptions! Cant wait

They drop cans not wrecks. You can kill the faction navies which drop empty wrecks and these salvage for good stuff but they dont respawn. You should be able to farm them if you have a character with < -5 faction standing but Ive never been able to try this out. If you really want a challenge, kill the customs.
