Would appreciate advice as currently I am playing with a short complete freeze of my interface for one or two seconds every minute precisely, except when warping or battling when it can be as frequent as once every ten seconds. It always occurs at the same time each minute (like clockwork, in fact I checked with my watch and the second hand is always in the same place each time) when it is not happening more frequently and there is no extra disc activity at that time (I can hear it). It even happens in station. Location Citadel with local solar system traffic about 100 pilots.
My rig is AMD3700+ on ASROCK Dual SATA2 with 1Gb DDR3200 and ATI X850XT pe card. Also X-Fi sound and a RAID 0 array of 2x Hitachi T7K250s 160Gb. Running XPHome-SP2 with Eve classic client.
I use Virgin (ntl) cable ISP 4meg service and have run a tracert as follows.
Any ideas?

Seems clean, but what if there is a hiccup every minute due to some automatic thing which this can't pick up ? I am stumped.

I have the same problem. Usually starts happening after a bit of playing, docking and warping back and forth. My specs are A64 3000, 2 GB, on a ASRock DualSATA2 with an ATI x1950Pro. Using the Premium Content with Small cache size selected in the graphics options, have tried Medium as well with the same results.
Feels like some kind of (graphics?) memory leak, though I don't get swapping when it happens. I dunno. Super annoying though.

Weird, we both have the same mobo but also single core and ATI graphics.
I wonder which one it is, or maybe a combination.
I dont get swapping either.

Edited by: Zofaman on 07/01/2008 13:50:11 I believe I had this odd issue of the computer freezing up in a steady rythm when I was in a complex I used to hang out in.
This was a laptop with a Mobility Radeon 9600 pro card, which I believe overheated due to dust and stuff being collected inside the machine.
I always thought it was due to overheating somehow. Oh btw, and this was not with the new premium content installed.

Either it's something in background that messes with your computer ressources, or there is something wrong with eve on your hardware and drivers.
I had some little freezes while testing the trinity client in singluarity and it happened to be some eve issue that got fixed.
But before saying its eve, better check your computer for useless software running, viruses and spywares.
Then check for dust and make a cleanup of every heat sink (turn off computer, then open and clean, you may unplug the power cord or turn off the power suply if it has a powser switch).
When everything seems clean (software and dust), then, maybe it's a bug with eve and you should try to run the logserver and fill a bug report for constant freeze. Write down the things you do (like undocking, fitting, market, map and other) to be able to help with reproduction steps in the bugreport. No reproduction steps really doesn't help the bughunters and devs. -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

I have a very similar issue, restarting the client fixes it, after a few hours online its back to the regular minifreezes (or lag spikes).
Eves been this way for many patches now.
A similar minifreeze can be reproduced by loading a chr portrait. I belive its some of the larger channels I am in, as reducing the chats have helped minimise it. Removing eve and the associated files and reinstalling also fixed this for a while. But it came back again. (ofc keeping the cache clear, disable txt logging, etc etc) all help too.
I dont belive its related to hardware at all. I run four different intel platforms and have this issue on all of them. (no sound).
The only other thing I noticed (and it may be unrelated) is if my DNS server becomes unavailable the minifreezes turn into majorfreezes.
I hope you find a solution, this issue has been annoying me for ages. I have just learnt to restart the client regularly before doing anything important.

Let me throw a wrench into this one.
I have the same problem, on one account. I run all accounts from the same folder on the same computer. I load them in various orders, have various numbers of them running at the same time. This problem occurs on one account, and one account only. It never occurs on my other accounts, and can occur regardless of how many other accounts i am running, or without consideration towards the order i start the accounts up in. It always happens to this 1 account and only this one account.
If i close the client and start it up again, i can usually go without it happening for few hrs. It really doesnt make much sense at all to me.
