Edited by: Lyria Skydancer on 06/01/2008 03:12:15 This may sound stupid or even like a rant but can someone tell me how to fit this ship? Id like a good long thread with people that have actually tested their fittings and can comment on their effectiveness. So please also post the areas of use for your fitting etc, if possible. Thx.
After that I think I might consider training for one of these, I feel the need for a new ship type.
Edit: Yeah Ive tried searching but the word sentinel just gives way too man results ---------------------------------------------

I have a sentinel with this setup (upper left corner), however since my corp has been on a bit of hiatus, I haven't got the chance of testing it, except that one time where I managed to land the neuts on a inty.
poor bastid got cap-less.
anyways, I reckon that changing the TD's for something else might improve the ship somewhat, but the cap injector is needed.
as for role? same as the curse tbh, wich is to break tanks with cap warfare. ---

2x Small Neut II Small NOS II
MWD II Micro Capacitor Booster II 2x TD II
2x Nanofiber II CPR II
2x Egress Port Maximizer I
Using the micro booster lets you drop the MAPC for a CPR, and run everything even with the NOS off.

I was under the impression that they removed micro cap boosters and made them all smalls?

I don't fly frigates often. Do they really no longer exist? I've seen it in a wreck once or twice that I can remember.

hmm none of these fittings have repper. I mean can you really count on not being hit at all? It has alot bigger sig radius then an inty and isnt as fast. It just seems to me that as soon as you take fire, even from drones or a weak inty you have to basically bail or die. Or am I missing something?
So my question is more, if repper is quite useful hmm what do I remove to be able to fit the repper? Downgrade the mwd to named or something? Im still very unsatisfied with all my fittings that im trying in eft right now. Shed some light please. ---------------------------------------------

The named ones are extremely hard to find, tech 1s are a rarity, dunno about t2s..

So no one flies these or is everyones setup a secret? Anyone got other suggestions fitting these that doesnt involve micro cap boosters that dont exist?

The picture posted above is mainly what I've seen recommended as fitting for it. Im just finishing up Electronic Upgrades V at this moment which will give me all the required skills to train for EAF's. As I'm currently dedicating most skills to flying frigate size ships for the time being I am possibly going to pick up this skill just to try them out.
Personally I love flying in smaller faster gangs and see the EAF's as a nice way to add EW to small ship gangs on the hunt for either other frig/cruiser gangs, anti-inty work etc.
I have come up against a Kitsune only once solo, and him constantly breaking my lock and getting out of web range was truly annoying and the only thing that let him survive. My Crusaders guns were chewing through him on the few hits I managed. But there's nothing more I fear flying a frigate than being left with no cap.
As fas as I'm concerned they are just frigate sized recons and should be fitted/flown as such.
Sentinel - Curse (Neuts/Nos+TD) Hyenna - Huggin (Web) Keres - Arazu (RSD) Kitsune - Rook (ECM)
As a mainly Amarrian pilot I actually think, for a change, that the Sentinel is the best of the bunch for solo anti-frig work, with the others comming close as frig gang support.

Anyone considering a repper in any fit? These EAFs are fast but arent as fast as inties and have huge sig radius with mwd because they dont have the sig reduction like inties either. Has anyone flown these things in combat and judge if reppers are needed or not? Sentinel might be more suited for it because it can actually fuel the repper with nos...thoughts?

The only Frig sized ships that I would tank with a SAR are ones with an appreciable tanking bonus, or innate HP buffer, or when your out for solo inty work as per your video (Punisher/Taranis/Malediction/etc).
As for these, given the HP buffer of both the Keres and the Sentinel they would possibly be viable. However, fitting requirments would be a pain. ---

hmmz, think this might work/be fun to fly?
1xnos 2xsmall beam, microwave navy s
1xmwd 1xweb 1xdisruptor 1xTD or cap recharger?
1xrepper 2xOD
2xpoly
Fast, destroys inties, can tank soso and it also kinda drains cap with nos if you let everything running it will work as a semi neut. :-o
This fit horrible?

3x T2/best named neuts
1xmwd 3x cap mods
1xnano 2xOD 4x T2 light scout drones 4x neut drones 4x T2 light ecm drones or if you fancy 12 T2 light scouts or 6 T2 med drones and launch 2 at a time :) or 3 med drones and 6 lights 1 med and 2 lights at a time drop a cap mod for a scram and you can go PvP solo and pop people in frigs quite easily :) not sure if it all fits though i left mine in hostile space :D so can't check to see the fittings :)

Guess there's two ways you can look at this. You can play the up close and personal version. Which would be
1 small NOS 2 small Neut
1 mwd 1 web 1 2 pt scram 1 cap recharger
2 OD 1 small rep
2 polys
The fitting is tighter than tight on PG and doesn't do a huge amount of DPS. However, plus side is you can knock an inties Cap to zero with the two Neuts in one cycle then keep him locked down with just 1 and the NOS. If he can't keep speed your light drones will eat him up pretty quickly and he can't get away either. As it's up close and personal and basically an anty-frig platform there's no point in using a TD, fit the cap charger.
Or there's the ranged version.
1 small NOS 2 small Neut
1 mwd II 1 1 pt scram II 2 x TD II
2 OD 1 small rep
2 polys
Still doesn't do a huge amount of DPS but orbit at 15 km, perhaps run two tracking scripts and your going to be pretty hard to hit by anything.
I think the key to this is either fit for up close and personal and take advantage of the huge neut/nos bonus, or go ranged and TD it all up. ---
