Eve is a game where you sometimes need to risk a lot to gain a lot. Its also a game where you are never totally safe, and at a moments notice, you could loose everything. Im sure every eve player has experienced an il-fated mission, or been poded without warning.

first weeks of EVE (back in 2004).
Pre-gemini.

Jumping into C6- or whatever in syndicate.

*lands at 30km from gate*
*wakes up on station*
just for your info, there was a time when ships warped out at random distances from the gate.
and if we still had JIP's nowadays, things would be soooo much different in terms of camping.

I was in a hauler, had a great trading route with synthetic oil and stuff, got my hauler destroyed cause I was traveling trough low sec without instas. I was playing for like a month then, and EVE is the only online game I have ever played. I petinioned the guy cause I was thinking hes not allowed to kill me, I was totaly unaware of PvP part of EVE
