Edited by: Linia on 06/01/2008 10:37:35 Imagine this scenario: a month old alt from a noob corp, lets say School of Applied Knowledge warps in to Dodixie (0.9) in its Obelisk (Gallente Freigther). Here it is instantly locked by a pirate in a caldari interceptor and scrambled, concord doesnt appear. Then a megathron (gallente battleship) warps in and starts killing the Obelisk, and this goes on, AT THE GATE for 15 minutes untill it dies. Concord never came.
We petitioned it and CCP found it was no bug or nothing wrong with that concord didnt appear and killed the pirates that attacked an innocent person at at gate, for 15 minutes. The alt had never perfromed any PvP actions, nor stolen anything from anyone or did anything but sit in a station and train skills.
Is this how eve is now? Pirates can just terminate freithers and people from starter corps that isnt in war with anyone at any point?

Nope the character wasnt in a fleet, it was all alone by itself.

Rather than make a public display, you could have just escalated your petition. __________________________________

No that is not how it is now. You are not telling the whole story - either because you don't want to or because you don't know the whole story, but you definitely are missing something...

Yea there's something missing here, what you say happened shouldn't have. So either the frieghter did something like open and move an item in a wreck, ganged with a war target or a bug.
Either way ask to escalet your petition and find out why. -----

What I already told you is all I know and im well aware it really shouldnt be like this. As I am not the owner of this freigther alt I've given her the link so she can read this and hopefully give me a private answer to this.
As it was my freigther that died..

In all frankness that sounds more like an "oops I ****** up and lost your billion isk ship, ill blame it on a bug" on the part of this alt.

This really does sound like the freighter accepted a random gang invite and was subsequently killed in a wonderfully brutal fashion.

No. And come on, you know that and are just being melodramatic. There are various ways to allow others to fire upon you in high-sec - and although we are probably not getting the whole story here, one thing that your account definitely demonstrates is that the pilots in the other corporation had the right to fire on the freighter.
CCP have investigated and found out that there was no bug, that the game mechanics were working as intended. So the important thing here is to find out what happened to allow your freighter to be attacked, and take steps to ensure that a similar thing doesn't happen in future.

How well do you know the person who 'lost' your freighter?
Any other witnesses to this event?Sounds fishy to me.

How about the owner of the freighter writes to the guys who killed him and asks how is it possible that they could attack his freighter without Concord response? Seems to be a logical next step to me rather than asking here on the forums and possibly not having half the story straight.
Seems kind of strange that he was just traveling and two random ships attacked him without any consequences (meaning a small gang was waiting on him). Either he got flagged to them somehow, or he accepted a gang invite into a wardec'd corp and didn't notice it or didn't pay attention to it.

I'd be asking to see the kill mail (or kill record, or whatever it's called now) and the combat logs from the pilot who had your ship.
I find it hard to believe that someone would attack a freighter in high sec without the firepower to kill it quickly. Gankers are usually looking for a quick kill. 15 minutes is not the usual style for those with the experience and firepower to take out a freighter in high sec.
Cheers Falka

You should ask for the killmail. You should contact the pirates, i would say they are very happy to share info about their kill and smack you at same time. It's kinda big ship :)
Are you sure your freighter is blown up? Did you see it go? Like someone said already. It's a billion isk ship and you loan it to a friend, how well do you know this friend?
How about your "friend" made this up and he sold your ship? Or he made a mistake and got blowed up, now he's afraid to tell the truth. -- I'm lost in space |
