Good evening competitors,
I thoroughly enjoyed the last report from Shar Tegral on the progress of RDIR but have with my sporadic forum presence not heard anything about this particular venture in a while. Yes, I do like to lurk this particular forum even though I seldom give in to the filthy pleasure of posting.
If Shar or Benvie would like to divulge som information about the current status of the project I for one would be a happy camper. There is far too much nonsensical spam on this forum nowadays and we need something interesting to read. At least I do!

I don't really have any access to the info as Shar is in charge of the assets. Last I heard most of the assets had been liquidated with some odds and ends remaining.

Sounds like I will have to be a little more patient. Does this mean I have to read Ufl and Ufl alt posts now?

Shar is a bit tied up at the moment as far as I know. If I see him on MSN I will point him over here.

Confirming that Treelox beat Ricdic to it. My copy of Ray's Sexy has been continually updated so there's records of sales while I've been sick. However to be frank these sales were dribs and drabs at hyper inflated prices. I did not leave any long term sell orders up at anything less than hyper-inflated for some items as the market can change way too much and I just haven't had the capacity, mental/physical, to monitor a bunch of orders like they should be. One of my first matters to attend to is to figure out the market trends. From that I'll be able to draft up an initial status report based upon remaining unsold inventory. From memory I can say that there is about 19 billion in liquid isk in RDIR. I also believe that used only 1/3rd of the inventory to acquire that much isk. So it is possible to greatly exceed the 30 billion overall fund. However I also fear that some of what may remain might have had the least value increase overall (product wise). Still, that leaves the hopeful position of an additional 20 billion to be made even if we only sell of the inventory at the price we purchased it at. An update is very much on the agenda and this thread will be the first to know.

Oh, kind of need to apologize to Ulecese while I'm here. I started helping him with something and totally screwed it up with my absence. Not much one can say other than sorry.

If there's 19 billion sitting idle in the RDIR wallet, have you considered dividending it out? Obviously you'd only dividend out until you reached the point where the total invested was equal to the original investment +5% compounded per month: once you get past that point, the rest is the profit on which Benvie gets his cut. As it stands, the earnings for investors drop all the time (compared to available profit) due to a sizable chunk of capital doing nothing.
It's also worth considering that holding on to stock to make a few % extra profit isn't really all that worthwhile (if the rest of capital is idle) - as any potential gains need to be weighed against the total capital involved, not just the value of the actual items.
And it's also the case that the longer things drag on, the less Benvie makes - as each week adds to the amount the fund has to reach before he gets a cut.
I'd have no objection to having a flexible end date (for the purpose of assessment of Benvie's share). Specifically, once original capital was returned I'd be happy to call that date the point at which the threshold for Benvie's pay were determined - even if full liquidation took a week or two more.
I just don't like the thought of (a sizable chunk of) my invested capital sitting in a wallet doing nothing :)

I totally understand mate. Which is part of the reason why I've been offering buy back. Of course cashing out early is in itself a gamble too. I would also point out that my last reports were based on 3 months of activity. When I issued that report the total time elapse had been only 2 months. So, absence including, RDIR is exactly where it should be. And, at some first glances, my illness may have helped RDIR. The numbers are looking like various products have gone up, way up in some cases, and not being around has left us with the position of satisfying, or undercutting, market demand.

way to find a silver lining, or in this case an isk lined cloud.
