Hi all,
I just had a question about freighters.
Can you use them in mining?
For instance can i launch/anchor a Freight Can (the huge ones designed soley for freighters) and mine into it as i would say a jetcan/giant secure container and then when its full scoop it to the freighter and hit station unload and rinse/repeat.
And lastly is there any drawbacks to that?
any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have a freighter myself, but last I've read on the forums, no. Someone posted here that he made that mistake, getting and training an Obelisk for that purpose, and finding out the hard way.

No,
you cannot use a freighter to help in mining that way

I thought as much but i wasnt sure so glad i know ahead of time.
I am guessing the best and only way to haul ore back and forth is with an Industrial???
atm i am using an itty5 but was hoping there was an upgrade there....

nope itty 5's have the largest cargo hold. If you need more space fit Cargo Rigs. ( you should be able to max out around 36,000 m3.)

38,500 actually. 3x Cargohold Optimization rigs and a full rack of Expander 2's. It's fun insta-popping a full can and having room for more.
