I'm not interested in ships that need it, Dreads/Marauders..

 Just which ships benefit most?

The ships that have hard fittings. I would personally say: All of them.

What? You want a list? With the ammount of ways you can setup a ship, whats the point?

Cormorants and Thrashers, cause they can fit the largest turrets (teach 2 150mm railguns and tech 2 280mm artillery) without using fitting mods.

Caracal and Drake if you want to fit Heavy Assault Missile launchers on them.

Sniping fleet battleships so you can fit the largest turrets (like tech 2 425mm railguns) on them.

Battleships and most T2 ships are sort of expected for people to have AWU at at least 3+

I don't think AWU5 is really needed for much in the "regular" ship zone, as in anything smaller than capitols, and I have no experience with them so I don't know if they even need it.

I can fit up a Tempest with full snipe and AWU 4, 5 would just give me a little extra PG and nothing to fit in it.

Although on smaller ships, like AF's, it might give you the tiny nudge you need to be able to fit a slightly bigger tank buffer on them and still use the biggest guns, I'm not sure. Sorry I'm not very productive today :(

almost all ships benefit greatly from this but especially amarr battleships, when you have this and bs 5 you can do some pretty nice fitouts :)

Minmatar? Probably Thrashers I've got AWU 4 and really really want AWU 5 so I can fit that 7th 280mm Howitzwer Artillery II.

Of course all ships can use it (except possibly the industrials - having so few weapons to save grid on).

Artillery ships, TBH. Arty fittings are a major PITA. Prolly tachs too... but I don't fly Amarr so I can't really vouch for it. ;-)

fitting tachs is similar to getting cornholed by a pineapple....

your gonna have to brace yourself quite a bit and even then its gonna be painful...

 HEHE
Hes right though, fitting tachs is a ***** and always requires fitting mods. So if you fly any amar ship that is a usefull skill.

Fitting Artillery and anything else usually requires a fitting mod... though it's a bit painful to have a fitting mod just for your guns. ;-)

(BTW, I'm not disputing that Tachs are a ***** to fit. I have EFT just like everyone else. I just don't fly Amarr, and can testify from experience that Artillery is a major PITA to fit with anything else on the ship).

i asume u asking to find out whether it justifies the training time.
my advice: dont ask...start training already.

There are things that you're better off having (T2 guns and decent support skills for instance).

I operate pretty decently with AWU4, but I can see lots of setups that really require AWU5 to work out.

I find alot of use in AWU5 personaly.

The Phobos can squeek in 5 ion blasters, MWD and double rep injected tank, all t2 with 4 PG to spare.

You're just saying that to stop these "fanmails" Ive heard you mention.

As for AWU V, it's a pretty low priority for me. Come to think of it, I only have it at III.

Unless your wondering what to train next AWU5 isn't worth it, if your asking about it. AWU4 lets me crazy fit cruisers and strangely realize a tweaked rifter is still a rifter.
