I do hear that GoonSwarm would be much smaller if inactives got kicked. I have seen goons complaining about lack of participation. Maybe it's time to do another membership drive. Get back to the basics of shuttle and rookie ship warfare. Maybe you could threadnaught and get ccp to put in T2 Shuttles.
we do kick inactive from the main goonfleet corp we always have these forms to fill out.
And we do have fun being blown up i dunno about you but its nice to have suicide ops (Committing Insurance Fraud is fun) . But its also good to have Serious Business Fleet ops where you get things done this was one of those and it was unfortunate the lag made everyone go boom but it happens.

The key to goons success is not that we bring tons of lag but that we have discovered the super secret way to bring tons of lag only to the other side without lagging ourselves.
It's topsupersecret goon knowledge.

In response to Ju Ming.
Even though I hate to say it this is one of the more intelligent Goon posts I have ever seen. Granted there are still major inaccuracies, but whatever nothing anyone says is going to change the minds of those so wrapped up in propaganda, or those who latch onto a single statement and read it completely out of context as time goes by.
I do see the swarm doing the same thing they have done in other MMO's here, with the only difference being that the populace or those 'allying' with them believe what they say. In most likely hood in the belief that once the campaign is over goons will dissolve and move on, leaving behind 'scraps' for them to clean up.
On a side, yet related note, lets try to clear up some general misconceptions.
1. Stations in GBC were close to all allies. a. Usually only temporarily due to standings not being fully reset and certain GBC corps holding stations and not keeping standings upto date.
2. Offices were allowed, if they were available. a. Not all stations have a plethora of Office Slots.
3. Ratting was allowed. a. Certain systems and constellations were reserved for certain GBC members. Either they paid for the right, or fought for it whatever the terms of their contract were, or benefits of being in BoB itself.
4. Treatment of Tenants. a. Defense of Regions/Constellations was usually set up as you defend it yourself as best you can, if get into serious trouble BoB as a whole would come help defend (we do have a vested interest in having the tenants remain). I do not think this is any different than how RSF or other Coalition members work their 'pets'. i. Some do better than others in this type of arrangement. It gives some smaller developing Allainces a chance to build up. Giving experience, opportunities to 0.0 resources, and a big brother who will come help little brother if he gets picked on by bullies too big for him. ii. Many of any major powerhouses 'pets' have good attributes and bad, and are sometimes frankly discussed as such. Some are 'respected' more than others. (Not to bloody noses and no slight intended but XELAS = KOS anyone?) iii. Many members of GBC fly alongside major BoB led OPs, gaining training and combat experience, if they take advantage of it. Just as Other Alliances and their 'pets' do. Some even lead operations as the need arises. b. Special resources within controlled regions are tightly controlled, RA and the Static Plexes anyone? i. Who was more stringent on the running of the plexes when they existed? c. Abandoning of 'Allies'. i. I am sure that if you were in a similar situation you would look for the best way to handle strategically and logistically how to handle such situations. Iirc help was given to 'pets' to move their assets to a more secure position. ii. Some would even claim that those 'pets' did not deserve to 'hold' space since they were not strong enough to do so. However with the horde arrayed against them what would you expect?
5. Lag/Hax/Dev. a. Tin foil hattery at its best. No amount of argument here is going to change anyones mind. Sometimes I wish I had them so I could make it so that player skill, Skill Investment, ship investment, and SP was worth something again.
6. Blobbing. a. Best Anti Blob weapon was overnerfed due to incessant whining. Now even CCP and those who were whining are complaining that they are near useless for the investment they take.
7. Arrogance. a. To a certain point of view it could be considered as such. Wouldn't you laugh and beat your chest if you just completely owned your enemies fleets non stop? Oh, wait, they do...... Pot meet kettle.
In all most are having fun blowing other people up as usual in 0.0 space. Nothing has changed here for several years.
Like someone else said in this thread the pendulum will swing the other way.

Edited by: Yussef on 08/01/2008 19:08:12 Goons will be fine after the war. The only difference of life without BoB means is we lose a reason to engage in longterm POS warfare. We tend to find that boring anyway, it is only feasting on BoB tears which drive us to do it...after that we'll have plenty of fun forming up roaming gangs and fleets and killing when and where we feel like it. Furthermore goons like being...well goons. Where else are they gonna go for that experience?
Wishing the goons away won't make it so.

Am I hearing this right, Goons lost a fleet battle? This is probably the end of the war for us. How will we be able to live down such a loss? This has only happened like 100 times previous to now, surely the camels back is broken. _________________________________________________________

But hey - I guess goons are getting used to being unoriginal, unfunny, and claiming other people's successes as their own.

I'm serious.
He's right you know. It's the same in most aspects of life. There are very few of us who are intelligent enough to go to the top universities in the country. We're in the minority, and we're usually mocked for it by the 'great unwashed' masses lower down the scale.
It's much the same in Eve. Those who aren't as successful usually group together with people that they feel more on a level with, more comfortable and ridicule the elite to make themselves feel better.
