Hey, just a quick idea i had... I think it would be nice to have the ability to actually view all the ships in the game, or at least all the ships that a person could pilot one day. nothing fancy, just be able to see the ship as if it was your active one in the hanger.
Just a thought.

Not "as if it were your active one in the hangar" but screenies of all the ships.

Well the only way that's going to really happen is if you train up to fly the ships with their minimum skills required, and then jump onto the test server.
Everything on the test server costs 100.00 ISK.
(Requires another Eve Online install in a seperate location, and I recommend you read the test server rules before you set foot on it).
You can gawp at all the ships in Eve Online in all their glory, at your own leisure, or play with all sorts of ship setups etc. Cause that's what the Test Server's for ^^
However, you are limited to the ships that you can get your hands on, and realistically skill up for, like Carriers and the like aren't readily available on the test server, nor are Drednoughts or Titans, or many of the more recent T2 ships. And it's rare to get faction modules that you don't already own.
Please note that you'll have to skill up on the NORMAL client, then wait until the test server catches up, before you're going to get into any of those ships.
There are applications that draw 3D models of object for a player to twist and turn and examine written entirely in Java, though I can't imagine the amount of work required to port all the ships in Eve Online into a format such as this. Though it's not a bad idea.
