draxus	Posted - 2004.03.20 20:17:00 - [1] Ladies and Gentlemen have we got a treat in store for you!!! Welcome to the Monster Indy 5000 racing championship! The biggest, baddest, nitro-fuelled, hardcore indy racing in the galaxy! We're gonna have the most suped up, gas guzzling monsterous machines you've ever wittnessed streaking across the skies of EVE!!! Races will start at 2200 eve standard time on Sunday 21/03/04 from Yulai. There will be three race categories: 1. Beginners championship - If you're new to EVE, or if you've not been a pilot for more than 1 month you can enter this category, expect competition to be fierce as young pilots scramble for the highest quality parts and ships in an effort to be the fastest new pilot on the block. 3 system race. 2. All out drag speed fest! - Any pilot can enter in any custom rigged speed indy, tuned to breaking point to be the fastest mother loving trucker in the galaxy. 5 system race. 3. Big Haul! - Just like the drag race, fastest pilot to get from start to finish wins, the only catch is you gotta carry 5000 cargo all the way... watch those overdrive mods 5 system race. Rules: Providing you conform to the category's requirements, anything else is fair game! All races will take place in system with a 0.7 or higher security rating. Entry fee for beginners championship will be 50k and 100k for the drag and big haul races. Since this is a new event Monster Indy 5000 will make sure the prize fund for the winner of each race is at least 1 million isk! That's a lot of isk for 5 jumps! If you want to enter a race, sponser a racer or just spectate, join channel 'Indy 5000' for the very latest race information. If you want to race or follow the racers across the galaxy make sure you're in Yulai at 2200 eve s.t. 21/03/04 While every care is taken to ensure the saftey of participants and spectators during races, Monster Indy 5000 cannot be held accountable for your personnal safety or loss of ships. Bookmarks are easy to make. And people that operate in the area frequently may already have bookmarks. You already said the start is at yulai, it's simple to make bookmarks a few jumps in every direction. Best to keep each gate watched closely--I'd expect some sneaky bookmarks that aren't instajump, but rather like 10km for that little advantage. ______________ The Kerrigan Chronicles
draxus	Posted - 2004.03.22 15:33:00 - [10] Ladies and Gentlemen, The Monster Indy 5000 did not happen yesterday at the specified time due to severe and unexpected technical difficulties which could not be rectified in time for the races. My sincerest appologies to all/any who travelled to Yulai expecting to participate in the event. However... 2nd time lucky, I will be organising another attempt next week on Sunday, the time may be a little earlier but only by an hour or so... OOC: The reason I couldn't get on is that my new monitor shorted out my graphics card a couple of hours before the race . But I'll have replacement parts by tomorrow hopefully Draxus, Lead promoter and organiser of the Monster Indy 5000 Sponsored by Triax Inc.
