Hiya. i have found this. not all the time but usually happends after i lost connection and the client reboots to login in screen. to fix i guess either go to options and uncheck the box saying reboot client on login (so you do it manually) or close the client and reopen it. Usually works after that

I wish I could help but I have the same problem and can't solve it.
It's started since the new Vista update that was released last night was installed. Are you on Vista too?
I've tried re-installing EVE but I just can't log in. I've also noticed that quite a few of the options available on the Settings screen at login have disappeared too and the last attempt to re-install EVE has resulted in the mouse cursor disappearing too.

Edited by: Richstall10 on 10/01/2008 03:51:38 I have the same problem, i was able to login, only by copying my password in a document and paste it into the password slot, but once i was in the game, the keyboard still didn't work, it was like trying to play blind.. and their where allot of camera problems for me as well.
and if i Alt-Tab my mouse went away as well...

If so, then the updates from Tuesday may well be causing you problems as that turned out to be the source of my problem (and I had the mouse disappearing after an Alt-Tab on the login screen too).
I believe it was update KB943302 but it could also have been KB943411.
As soon as I uninstalled - and hid - these 2 updates, I was able to log in to EVE.

Got the same problem... and it might have something to do with either firewall or virusscan. Got Panda myself, so maybe others have that too? |

I found the following solution on another topic, tried it, and it fixed my problem.
Quote: Open Internet Explorer properties, Connection tab, LAN Settings button. Do you have a Proxy server defined, is that proxy server valid for your current location or is it accessed via a VPN connection which isn't currently running? Are you connected directly to your modem router or does your connection involve a server which may be involved in your route to the internet for web browsing?
so basically disabling that proxy that IE uses fixed my problem it might be the same problem your haveing

Edited by: Salliene on 17/01/2008 01:24:13 Just started having this problem too. The above fix about not using IE proxy did not work (not using one).
This fix did!

It's definitely linked to Vista updates for me.
A Windows Defender update was downloaded and installed in the background this morning on my PC.
Now EVE won't load and I get stuck on the log in screen. The keyboard has been disabled. If I Alt-Tab out and then back in again, the mouse then becomes disabled. Finally, loads of options are removed from my settings windows on EVE IF I am able to open it up.
And this only happens in EVE. It happens in no other program that I have tried since moving to Vista before Christmas.
Am I the only one who thinks that the issues associated with EVE Trinity are not worth the extra content?

I have had this problem too, I find it occurs after getting DC'd and then re-launching the client before my IP services have actually been restored. The Client searches for connection before even offering the login screen so if that search times out waiting for that connection then the keyboard input is dead after that timeout.
100% of the time I have fixed this problem by restarting the client. No plug pulling or other actions necessary.
Disclaimer: this is jut my personal experience. (and of several of my friends)
