I just finished frig5, and am all excited :) My plan is to go for exploration skills, but am curious about the other ship options that frig5 makes available to me. What do you guys do with caldari t2 frigs?

Interceptors are great. AF's are pretty sub par. Harpy is good as AF's go, Hawk is terrible.

Harpy - Good anti support sniper
Manticore - Lots of fun if used right
Crow - Rated by many as the best interceptor going, but i like my Maladiction better

I use a Hawk while assisting new players in level 1 and 2 missions. It's a fun little ship that allows me to help out our younger corp members.

Wow - glad I asked ahead of time - lol I'm trained mostly on missiles, and the hawk resists looked awesome, so I thought it'd be a good match. Guess not.

The Hawk, and Assault Ships in general, aren't horrible ships. They're just rather underpowered compared to what you would expect a T2 ship to be able to do since they only have 3 'real' bonuses (all other T2 ships have 4) and their masses are so much greater than their T1 conuterparts. There's lots of things that you can do in Assault ships, it's just that most of the time you can do them better in something else.

the hawk has a awsome PvE use, i PvP however its totally awful.
in PvE its my opinion that its better than the Harpy, but PVP Harpy is just miles better.
Everyones right tho, there are only really 2 good assultships and the harpy is one of them).

Ive posted Hawk setups before. In a nutshell - with decent missile skills, and using tech 2 precision missiles - the hawk is an effective anti-interceptor platform for intys flying slower than 7500 m/s.
With a missile velocity rig and a missile explosion velocity rig, you can hit interceptors going 8400ish m/s. You wont hit them for much - but honestly if you use a tech 2 small shield booster with cap charges they wont be hurting you either.
Its also useful for killing enemy tech 2 drones. Although I prefer a sniper Harpy for this role.
Don't use rockets on this ship - its too slow and a blaster harpy will do double the damage within web range.
Don't attack anything larger than a frigate in this ship - unless you're a comedian.

I use the Hawk for Guristas L3 missions that my Enyo has difficulties tanking (like "Pirate Invasion"). Unfortunately, another pilot using it doesn't make its damage any better - with T1 missiles, a Kestrel does significantly more damage. I like the Harpy a lot, but don't use it much so far; as has been said, it can be very useful in PvP. I have two Raptors that I use as beefed up low sec and 0.0 shuttles. Can fly all other T2 frigs save the EAS as well, but haven't used any of the other Caldari ones yet.
