That's not really a good breakdown because there are a lot of noobs etc who simply have never seen 1 bil much less 100 mil. If nothing else, it needs two additional levels, like:
<100 mil = destitute <1 bil = poverty

For me its a bit like what Don Genaro said. When i had my first few billions, i felt quite rich, thought i belong to the wealthy ones in eve. Today, with 26 spare billions in wallet and maybe something like 10 bil in assets, i know im rather somewhere in the middle, maybe even below average. On the other hand there is not much you can spend isk on, if you live in empire, as everything seems to be about 0.0 and pvp etc, so it's ok for me, no reason to make more isk, i guess i'll never make it to the club of the wealthy ones .

Edited by: Cpt Branko on 10/01/2008 19:39:46 I consider myself somewhere in between. I'm sitting at about roughly 1.1B of ISK and roughly 175M of assets, which is, I feel, preety fine for my char age.
Statistically, it's above average anyway. It's not like I have a lot of expenses, considering I mostly pirate in small ships, so I don't spend a lot of ISK on ships & stuff.

Convert your total ISK value into USD.
Compare that amount with how much you would have to make monthly in RL to "qualify" for a certain class. If your total Eve assets are worth $100, you're probably not doing so good. If they're worth $10,000, you're slightly better off.
It works.

I'm feeling poor lately. Used to have almost a billion in wallet , now down to less than 100m. It's just that my income is rather low - this was fine for solo work , but feels so limiting as a corp CEO

Edited by: Zinras on 10/01/2008 20:05:36 I'm chronically poor.
Whenever I get close to 100 mill ISK I find some way of losing a lot of money incredibly fast, like corp gets into a war, I'm a ****** in a mission, or something else.
I have never had 100 million ISK in my wallet (got 60 mill atm)

When I was a trial account newbie I was rich - pulling in between 1 and 2 million per run from salvage. By the end of the first two weeks I had 50mil ISK in the bank, had spent ~50mil on skill books and had a kitted out Vexor, thorax, and catalyst.
These days I'm struggling to pull in 1mil ISK per day and have less than 1mil ISK in the bank. Of course, I'm no longer selling the salvage but even then I'm not getting the same amount of stuff that I used to.
It probably doesn't help that I didn't activate my account until Rev II came out (about 3 months after trial) and that I've only just reactivated after about 6 months

When I have enough isk to buy whatever I want whenever I want it, then I will feel rich. Right now I feel extremely poor as I have my eyes set on faction BS, Black Ops, Carriers and the like, which I can't afford. Problem is, as soon as I can afford them, I'll start thinking I'm poor because I can't afford a mothership.

I know there are plenty out there with lots more that would make me look like a poor fool but how do you feel about your financial status in eve?
I have more ISK than I need, more ships than I can fly, and a faction-fitted CNR so i can get more.
That's rich by any reasonable definition. Once you have what you need, anything else is just degrees of "richer".
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

hmm have a few bil in assets but I never have more then 4-500 mil in liquid isk, I just dont see a reason to have that yet, its enough to replace ships faster then I loose them and allow me to fly what I enjoy in pvp everyday. Only time I raise more then that is when I need to buy a character or I feel like ordering a bunch of some new ship I want to fly :p

I felt really miserable when I moved all my stuff in a freighter, and I consider myself a packrat... after almost 2 years playing EVE, I got 1/2 freighter filled with all my stuff, including ships
That is why I hate freighters

It depends what you consider assets really, if you take the sum total of everything you own (characters included) liquidated I think the figures posted are a pretty good representation.
The richest groups in eve are the farmer shops. You need only to scan the GSCs they keep around empire to ban-proof loot that is awaiting sale - as ISK cannot be stored safely (clearly there is a surplus of dirty ISK to be sold, hence the queue).

Never broke 1 bil mark. Yet I don't consider myself poor. If someone was to hack my account today, steal everything and leave me with only rookie ship, it would probably take me less than a week to be back on my feet. If I need ISK for some shinny BS, I'll devote large portion of my play time to making ISK until I meet the goal. But otherwise I don't see a point in wasting time just so I can have a pile of ISK collecting dust.

2.5B in Isk, probably another half to 3/4 B in assets. Really don't need money, just do it for the challenge of the game. Skill training slows down buying bigger/better/badder ships anyway. I consider myself a little above average for a 7 month player. YOU'VE NEVER ROCKED 'TIL YOU'VE UNDOCKED. |

What's the point of a huge pile of isk? Can't fly isk... if you want someone else to do the dirty work, you'll spend that isk...
For me it's: what's the point of a huge pile of isk? It doesn't earn interest.

1.1b in isk, 900m of that has to goto GTC's as both my accounts expire in the next two days.
All I do anymore is just enough missions to pay for my accounts with ISK nowadays.
