It is completely unacceptable that this is happening, and CCP needs to sort it out urgently.
For too long certain people have been doing this, and it needs to stop. The community is as much to blame as CCP, we need to stand up as a community and demand that those who abuse the mechanic are made to pay the price. You know, and I know, exactly who is to blame for this situation.
So take a stand. Say, "No, I'm not going to take it any more!"
Don't allow this travesty to continue.

This mechanic was clearly intended.
You just need to learn the counters. They are many and obvious. This mechanic acts as an alternative to the far more popular alternatives and without it EVE would be a duller, shallower place.
