Edited by: Snaith on 11/01/2008 14:08:10 Just posted on Tiscali Eve support sticky. Wanting all people with problems to give feed back.
Quote "This is just typical. I'm just writing to the team about this (dropping eve) and I received an email from them. Reads as follows:
"I have just made some changes that should resolve the issue. Can you please get the customers to retest and get back to us ".
Instead of having to post a list of users and ask them to feed back, this concerns all of you in this thread. This is across all network platforms now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is either the end of this or at least somewhere near (but not holding my breath). __________________ Happy New Year

Tiscali support link replies click here.
If you are going onto Tiscali forums for first time you have to register and get a mail back from the support team before you can post.
Also make sure you are logging into the forums not just the Tiscali services, they can be different buttons.
Please note, we do know what the issues are, and we can slag them off 'til the cows come home. Not what this thread is about. Please post on Tiscali support Forums, see if we can put this baby to bed.
Bumpage for 48 hours appreciated

Sorry to be harsh- but you guys are idiots.
Same old delay / appeasement strategy from Tiscali and you allow them to do it and play their game.
If your new car broke down every single day, and the garage kept telling you it would be okay next time and they were working on it, how long would you wait before demanding a refund?
Exactly...

Tiscali customers should consider the possibility that Snaith is connected to Tiscali....

But not a peak times when I want to play Eve, and you are trying to cause mischief.
I flog this horse, 'cos I and some others do not have the choice of changing ISP's. We are not stupid and would if we could.
I point you to original post moooooo.

Edited by: Raul Rincon on 11/01/2008 23:46:27 Edited by: Raul Rincon on 11/01/2008 23:44:35 We had Tiscali years ago when they first started doing broadband. From about 3 months in we wanted to get out of the contract. They never picked up the phone, we were always speaking to someone in Bangladesh with next-to-zero English skills, lied to us, used stall tactics, frequently 'forgot' to do simple tasks, refused to pass us onto managers and even hung up the phone many a time...
When we did manage to get them to release us, we asked for our transfer code. They said 30 days. We waited. Then when we called again they said they forgot. Another 30 days went by and it arrived. When we tried to use it we were notified by Tiscali that we were not allowed to use the code. Eventually after 3 months of this rubbish we got out.
Then they charged us for 4 months service, 6 months later.

My tiscali account finished on thursday and I am now with a new isp, but i'm still interested to see if they are making progress.
By the way, it cost me around ú80 overall to leave tiscali after my 12 month contract was up :( This is because A. they had done something to my phone line so I had to pay a set up fee with my new isp rather than simply migrating, and B. The little blue sagem modem thingy supplied by tiscali would not work with my new isp so I had to buy a router. It seems the only way to instal the sagem modem is by running the tiscali instal CD which locks it so you can't change settings to allow it to work for other isp's. Thanks tiscali.

Snaith- there is no reason why you cannot switch from Tsicali.
I am not causing mischief. It bother me enormously to see someone (perhaps unwittingly) assisting Tsicali in their stalling tactics. If even one customer gives tiscali another chance and waits another month to switch because of your posts, then you have done that customer a massive dis service.

You are once again hijacking a thread, you have no idea what I and others can and cannot do in terms of ISP suppliers, many cannot swap.
I have left enough details in the stickies for people to get instant MAC codes should they choose.
As I have said to you before start your own threads, don't take mine off its track if you want to moan about Tiscali.
I refer to the original post.

No it seems it wasn't and there are now a number of LOTR and Call of Duty people joining the ranks. Also some console players are finally working out whats been causing their problems and are adding to the sticky.

Without a doubt , this fix has not worked , and if anything it seems to be worse, and the Pipex people are getting the same too now , in increasing numbers.
Let them know at Tiscali via details in orginal post.
Anyone wanting their MAC code from Tiscali use above number, and quote technical issue ticket number 945561 and say it's been running since October which is in their terms and conditions should realistically be fixed within 28 days.
They should give you the MAC code within 5 days, if you hassle them a bit, they can send it straight away if they so choose.

From Tiscali Forums quote "HI,
Well, it would seem that the last update did not fix this (no s**t sherlock) . I have reported this back to the team and asked what the next move is. They have been and continue, talks with the vendor on this. When they have the next installment, I'll let you know. This doesn't mean I'll update this thread every 5 mins though!
I'm sorry, but the Pipex folks have to stick to the Pipex support process. We can't do anything for them here. I know a few have posted on here already but, as I said, I can't help them. __________________ Happy New Year

I remember doing some analysis in 2006 for BT on their "customer experience".
As an experiment, I wanted broadband in my flat.
First, I had to get a phone line installed, with phone. Then I had to have it uninstalled (I had to get it installed so I would be in the database for the broadband folks). Then I had to get the broadband installed.
It took two months.
I then went to a call center where they did all this work. It looked like one of those war rooms in a WW II movie, with women running here and there with messages. Apparently, when you call in, a person who "knows what the computer will want" asks you questions and writes the data down on a piece of paper. This paper then goes to the "correct" room where 1 of over 120 applications might need your data. The paper is carried around by hundreds of young women who work in this building.
If any data is incorrect or missing, they'll wait for you to call back.
The state of telecom in the UK is an atrocity in progress. I left, and returned to the US. ------------------

I have to wonder whether this means you were to blame for the abysmal OneView system they insisted rolling out over every department and every subsidiary.
Let's just say it was why I quit. We had a decent computer system in place. Not very good but usable. ---- Anything less is wasted effort |
