How long do single run carrier BPC's take to make?
I'm looking at the price of a carrier BPO (in the tens of billions) and referencing the WTS ads at 1 - 1.5 B and wondering how long it would take to recover the cost of the BPO.
Is selling carrier BPO's profitable?

Carrier market is oversaturated and many try to shift BPO's at a loss to get some isk back in.
Many fail to sell them researched and at 90% NPC value.

I think you mean Motherships, not carriers. All this info is easily found in game. Just look up the BPO you are wondering about and check the time. Factor in the skills and POS bonuses. If you don't know these then honestly you aren't ready for the information anyhow.

From the numbers you're quoting, I'd say you're talking about mothership BPOs/BPCs not carrier ones.
Whilst you could make a "profit" selling them (so long as you sell one for more than the cost of copying you made a "profit"), the rate of return on investment is much lower than most other ways of making ISK.

Okay, maybe I am confused.
What is a Nyx?
In the Item Database it's under "Carriers".
What is a Mothership? And what is the differnece in the lingo "Mothership" and "Carrier"?

If you don't know the difference you REALLY are not in the position to be trying to make copies of them.
Motherships are in the Carrier tab because they are basically large carriers. Tier 2 carriers if you will. But they are in a totally different league than regular carriers.

a Nyx is a mothership.
Essentially Motherships are really big carriers.
TBH the cap ship market in general is oversaturated. Your about a year late to enter the market for the "crazy" profits. --

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I'm not concerned becasue I play for fun, nothing more.
But thanks for clearing it up. I'm not the biggest fan of jargon, so I mostly go by what is printed in the Item Database.
So just to clarify, if the Nyx is THE GALLENTE MOTHERSHIP, then the other in the I.D. is THE GALLENTE CARRIER?
Basically, I'm sitting at work bored and wondering if I bought a 20B ISK Nyx BPO, how long would it take me to make a copy, (yeah I know skills will play a part, but what is a ballpark figure)? I'm not looking for "massive nutty uber crazy" profit, just wondering how often I would have a copy to sell.
That's why I come to the masta's! :)

Edited by: Shadarle on 11/01/2008 20:44:36 3 Months. It's a crappy investment, which is why the few IPO's based on them have been selling them off.
The 3 month number is not hard and fast at all, it is possible to lower it a lot... but if you want a better number do the math yourself.

You can get it down to 56 days with a POS and beancounter copy time implant. At that point, it's not too bad an investment but there are much better ones. The mothership bpc market went to hell since CCP screwed the mothership market up. BPC prices dropped from a solid 4-5b to 1-2b overnight.
