I would like to propose the following concept. Feedback is welcomed. And if you endorse the concept, I would hope you promote this link in general militia chat or your FW corp so that we get more participation. I've already gotten permission from Jude Lloyd to use his concept and apply it to FW.
Details:
Every Friday, Caldari and Gallente frig pilots are encouraged to come duke it out in requested solo fights or Free For All mayhem.
Nisuwa is the chosen star system because it acts as a decent middle ground b/w both factions. There is also a station in system to dock and repair if need be.
I'm a pilot in Gallente militia. I want to bring forth this concept in order to create a more healthy FW environment
Benefits:
- More pew for everybody. Duh
- Newbies (especially those in general militia) are more engaged with FW by getting more pew rather than station spin and ultimately leaving FW due to lack of fights
- Beats trolling each other on forums complaining about lack of fights or blobbing
- Only helps FW environment in general as CCP tries to fix FW for 2012
Caveat and Etiquette:
No doubt that pirates will start to camp the pipelines but that's a good thing because more fleets from militia or elsewhere will come to fight them. So one way or another, fights will ensue
If you accept or request a solo fight, please be a good sport about it and keep to your word. Otherwise, anything goes.
If this gets ringing approval, I'd like for this to begin next Friday February 17th

Again, agreed fights only bring two things, one **** fights and two the odd ******* that warps in a smartbombing Rokh that pods 20 enermies and friends alike.
If you want a frig fight its simple enough, get your fleet set up go fly into your enermies home system, shake your ass abit and kill some dumbass flying blind, and then give it 10minutes and low and behold they will come and kill you.
Please stop trying to make **** easy for **** players. Just try learning to ******* play. |

Fortunately, I don't one person's approval for this. I leave up to the will of the community to decide. If the community doesn't show interest, then no harm done. If the community shows enough interest, then it's a go. Sorry to rain on anyone's idea of spontaneity.

Despite the good intentions, arranged fights generally end up with people showing up from both militias that aren't involved in the fight with cynabals, vagabonds, and smartbombing battleships. Sync isn't being negative, he's just pretty much stated whats happened in the past when FCs tried to set things up like this.
If you want to have small scale fun why not leave heyd and actually fly with your militia deen? They're constantly having dessie brawls against us squids.

It's not about me. I'm just putting this up for everyone and let them chime in. And besides, there are pilots who don't mind soloing because that's just their nature and will happily take whatever perceived risk is involved.
Anyway, let's just see how the thread goes.
On a side note, we could probably argue for many pages on what is or is not considered an arranged fight nowadays. But we'll save that for some other Frog/Squid threadnaught :)

It's a good idea.
Events like this are certainly fun.
I would do it and I'd try to get the guys I fly with to come out in frigates as well. We are not all FW, but red none the less.
This thead is really a callout to those that are interested in the challenge. We all know the drawbacks of a planned event, no need to remind the readers constantly. |

Yes the small plex pew has been quite fun the last couple of weeks. It's been quite refreshing flying dessies around and duking it out. Then in between the fights we find fun things to gank that are not squids...like noobs in dreads seiging a pos

If only you useless FW pilots had a way to restrict the participants to T1 Frig/Dessie hulls. If only there was some game mechanic that would force all those involved to ship down to the desired platform.

Hes a pirate so of course is so wrong, yet hmmmm want to fight in frigs.... cause you're super poor and dont know what cheap ass cruiser means.... I to wish there was some way only t1 **** frigs could fight without BCs coming in with double webs...
But again hes a dirty dirty pirate so is so not talking about minor plexes at all. nope no idea what those are.
And the reason I so strongly disaprove of agreed ship class, place and people fights is because they have been done. I have been in them, someone ALWAYS, ALWAYS comes in and fucks it over.
Those types of fights dont work and only the **** try and get them. FW is homed in Lowsec, you can get a fight anywhere you want merely by undocking. Adapt to this or please, go sit outside jita/amarr/rens and play with them. Thats your level, embrace it.

That's a decent compromise. Perhaps the plexes in Nisuwa and a neighboring system? I am choosing two because there may not be enough minor plexes in Nisuwa.
Garr- Thanks for the reminder about Faction Fridays. It's not my intention to cannibalize Faction Fridays. However, based on my memory of last week's form up, wasn't it primarily non Faction Frigates that formed up for the roam? There will always be some cannabalization but the audiences for both themes are slightly different. It will be primarily T1/T2 frigs for Frig Fridays.
For those unaware, Faction Friday is a Gallente Militia themed roam where pilots will x up in Faction ships such as Cynabals, Machs, etc... and go look for a fight.
EDIT: I should mention that non FW pilots are welcomed to come shoot it out. Perhaps Amamake is too far for some and they call Gallente/Caldari lowsec space home. I've fixed the original post to reflect this

Pre arranged fights dont work, even if you say we'll use a plex. Someone ALWAYS ruins it. Whether you have a rouge group of militia or some pies that just come in. Besides remember plexes also let dessys in. So to give you a practical example:
Frig Friday at Nis yeay!!!!!! We start fighting in merlins and rifters.
All of a sudden a rougue group of thrashers enter and BAM Frig Fridays just turned into Pod Fridays. |

to the OP..
One thing I'd like to suggest, is try to focus on splitting up your Gallente blob a bit. You guys already really out number the Caldari for the most part due to the fact Gals mostly focus their numbers on the Akadagi to Rak pipe with side steps to Tama or Hey.
This is really the reason you guys don't get the fights you claim you want. There are tons of Caldari out running around in small gangs but they mostly aren't interested in getting ganked with 5 to 1 odds so they roam the back pipes. If you start pulling tons of your general Militia into the mix, with cheap frig stuff, you will just inflate that number to retardation and fights will be fewer and further between.
If you Gallente started going out in smaller gangs away from the "blob lands" then you would get a lot more fights. Why not take the opportunity with your frig Fridays and actually go roam around the other 90% of Caldari vs Gallente FW space which Gallente for the most part totally ignores?
We roam the back pipes all the time with small gangs but finding a Gallente much less a small gang of WTs back there, is like trying to chase unicorns. There are fights out there and tons of Caldari out roaming but you guys always stay in the same few systems dependent on always having overwhelming blob/gank.
Spread out a bit and do something that doesn't always involve 15-20 guys and I'm pretty certain you guys will find lots of small gang fighting from Caldari. Remember not every active pilot in Gal militia needs to be on every damn Rifter KM.. move around go do some small gang stuff and maybe you guys might enjoy it. 
Sadly I personally can't show up as a foe to your frig Fridays or in support of Bolsterbomb's Weds ops due to my work schedule. You guys happened to pick 2 of the 3 days I work each week.  |

Our pilots are barred from entering those areas in fear that we may drive Caldari Militia rats into extinction. |

Actually the "back pipes" I was talking about are pretty much all Gallente space. Like taking the back way from Vlillirier down to OMS with all the little side diversions that sprig off from that route. There is also the Evaulon pipe that goes around to Gal high sec.
It's all nice roaming grounds and I've never really understood why there is not more smaller gang action out there. It's where I tend to spend most of my time when Im' out roaming because it also has very easy access to Syndicate, PB & CR when I want to have a look see in null. |
