So Ive got all 10 seasons now.
I think I'm on disk 3 of season 10 when they had a episode that had that alien movie director guy and they were talking about how to convey O'niell's character in the movie even though he's no longer with the SGC.
Long story short they showed some scenes and I seemed to have missed some episodes (again) so maybe somebody knows what season I'm looking for.
Where they meet the Furlings.
But more importantly, an episode where Jack in turned invisible. Just a few scenes of that and I was beyond laughter and into hysterical fits.
Which season folks?

I'm doing a bit of research on the web and it looks like Jack's invisibility deal was related only to the 200th episode which really sucks. An entire episode of Jack being invisible would have totally rocked and most likely out-do Window of Opportunity for humor factor.

They made a load of random stuff for the 200th ep. They never actually meet the furlings iirc, but they have a scene in the 200th ep with what they imagine the furlings to look like. the same with Jacks invisibility afaik there was no actual ep where it happenned they were just joking around for number 200.
Plus it goes without saying that the puppets scene and the wizard of oz scene never actually happened either

It's all made up for the 200th Episode. The invisibility thing was a joke about him not being there anymore, so they just have his voice but no body.

Edited by: Shinnen on 12/01/2008 13:27:22 The best episode is the one in season 4 (Window of Opportunity) where Teal'c and O'neill keep going in a time loop. Funniest thing.
Plus they never actually meet the furlings, except in the parody 200th episode. -- Banned since 2005, back by popular demand! They said it wouldn't happen!! |

The film "Ark of Truth" was leaked over xmas, I downloaded it, but havn't watched it yet, because it's a bit blurry and some of the special effects are missing (one scene).

Yeah I thought I had missed a couple of episodes as I've skipped over disks before and gotten backtracked when they showed that something happened and I'm like "WTH, I don't remember that!"
So when they showed the Furlings and invisible Jack it totally threw me off and I spent about a half hour pulling out each season and checking the titles.
I'm still debating on if I wanna watch SG:Atlantis. I mean after a while it kinda turns into the power rangers. Each season they vanquish the powerful foe that reigns supreme in the universe and something more sinister comes walking along.
That and they've got a scene where they're talking about playing WOW and I'm sitting here trying to comprehend how a guy gets a connection from another galaxy when I drop a signal in a heavy storm.
I still wish they had atleast done an invisible Jack episode though. That would have been the bread winner of the series.

I liked SG-1 for the first few seasons but it just turned into that - plot was so shallow it felt like the show was being aimed at 12yrs all of a sudden. I haven't seen much past season 8, but from what I hear it dosen't get any better, with Atlantis being the worst

stargate sg1 is the best stargate series, nice choice. especially season 8-10 and particularly 9-10 where they start to encounter the auri/ori.. whatever. and season 7-8 i believe is when they fight the replicators, those seasons are definately where stargate sg1 shines. the earlier seasons are somewhat.. odd, with some good episodes inbetween.
the dynamic between those actors are simply inspiring.
in regards to the furlings i think that refers to when they met the nox. since i don't recall them meeting any race called the furlings. (hint.. carter says.. well that never happened)
and yes the episode called 200 is definately one of my favourite sg1 episodes cause it's quite hilarious
"even if the valley wasn't filled with jaffa we could never have made it through the gate and dialed out in under 10 seconds.. your right, that's why i need you.. we need a more odd number, how about.. 38.. what does it matter, it's not like your going to have a ticking clock on the screen.. THATS BRILLIANT.. that's ridiculous :I trust me.. jeaperdy plus ticking clock equals box office.. it's the e+mc^2 of the entertainment business!"
"the singularity is about to explode.. weapons are at maximum, we got a solar flare heading straight for us! can you reverse the polarity? i'll try captain. Engine room.. warp speed! I'm doing my best captain but your expecting a bloody miracle!"
"ok 1, that's star trek, and 2, it's ridiculous, the singularity is about to explode? YES!, everything about that sentence is wrong... how exactly is having weapons at maximum going to help the situation? the audience doesn't care, they love weapons at maximum.. "

They never meet a race called the Furlings. But they most certainly exist or have existed. In an episode ( maybe season 4,((SEE EDIT)) not too sure) called the 5th Race, the Asgard talk about the 4 great races, the Furlings, the Asgard, the Ancients and the Nox.
Plus season 5 is amazing - Jonas Quin, come on!
EDIT: episode is called "The Fifth Race" s2e15. see: http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/The_Fifth_Race -- Banned since 2005, back by popular demand! They said it wouldn't happen!! |

Atlantis started out somewhat weak but is now as good as SG-1 ever was.
Though I'm still pretty sure its actually an anime that was accidentally made live-action. -

Yeah, I have to agree, the pre-General O'Neill seasons were the best, But the most recent have been great, but not as great as those seasons.
The Furlings were mentioned in the episode "The Fifth Race". The Asgard alluded to being four major civilisations that came together in peace. The Furlings have never been seen (and will never). But if you went to the Gateworld forums before the episode 200, the speculation that the furlings were actually furry was rife. They they look somewhat like Carebears/Ewoks as thats what people thought they might be, because the execs and producers do read and reply (in alt form) on those forums.
Also let it be known, that a do know a thing or two about Stargate, as my shelf broke from the weight of 60 individual DVDs. Now I have moved them all into a CD/DVD case, not only for ease, but because its the only thing I'm going to grab when my house is on fire!

When I started on a trial eve account (February 07) I was in KIsogo warping around in a rookie ship, got the "stargates" option on my interface, and I thought you had to go to a planet, land, and go through a gate. I thought, it must just be a funny version of SG1, I'm more into the space game. Then I wondered why I couldn't find other systems and couldn't get to them....
I've come a long way since.

Yet you're still a ! (I keeed, I keeed).
And I like Atlantis. The stories may not be great, but the character interaction is hillarious. The McKay episodes are the best ones.
And I just restarted SG-1, now that I've got the boxed set. Oooooo.

It was good, you should watch it Shinnen, I know the whole point of the film was to finish the Ori storyline but they really do finish it.. Completely... Theres no mystery left in your mind which kinda ruins it in my opinion?
It was incredibly cheesey in my mind also.. (they find ANOTHER machine(already having used Merlin's device), to destroy the Ori... its just lame...)
It is also stated that people have spent thousands of years searching for the device... SG1 spends 5minutes looking and it was half-hidden under a rock.. *corr, that was hard*

yeah unfortunatly the later seasons start becoming somewhat monotonous although the jokes can still be funny.
I used to love X-files when each episode was it's own story but once they strictly went on the alien abduction craze I lost inerest in it really quickly. I've noticed alot of series follow this kind of pattern.
Currently my other craze is Supernatural and while they have a main story of trying to stop the apocalypse they also pause occasionaly for some side adventure which has been keeping my interest up. That and they drive a badass car and listen to ACDC.

I just started getting into Supernatural (season1 ep 14), it's good, it's kind of like the old smallville days when it was "freak of the week", and not so much storylining.
But its inevitable that every non-comedy show that starts as non-linear ends up being following a story line. Examples are SG1, 4400, supernatural, smallville... -- Banned since 2005, back by popular demand! They said it wouldn't happen!! |
