So here I am, a budding pirate reading through the forums for knowledge. A few days back, some guy used a warp scrambler (jammer?) while the target was out of range. The target's drones agro'd, and then tried to kill the guy. But, instead of the pirate getting concord'd the target did because his drones attacked the guy.
So now, flying through belts, I see a guy with his drones out, and I ask you, does it still work? Or is it considered an exploit?

I am feeling pretty certain that it would be considered a exploit if you purposefully did this.

i would say go for it. If bob can crash the servers to keep themselves safe which will effect a few hundred people u can do this and only upset 1 person

Might as well exploit it, ccp wont be able to prove it for one, and if you **** enough people off they will quit and the lag will improve.

Since this meets the definative criteria for an exploit, it is an exploit. That much is clear. CCP may issue a ban in a situation where the use of game mechanics is clearly an exploit. In such situations they need not give warnings. Nor is CCP obligated to have previously spelled out the exact details of an exploit of a bannable nature.
In short.......it might work as far as game mechanics, but you could get banned for doing it. It's just not that hard for CCP to go over the logs and all it takes is one person petitioning you.

Edited by: Jesnen on 13/01/2008 23:03:09 Except that ccp pretty much always warns people because they (afaik) have never compiled a list of known exploits or, god forbid, fixed said exploits. For example, I've been playing for years now and have never heard of this exploit, ccp always warns since most exploits are more than likely commited through sheer ignorance.
