Consisering that one of the walls isn't even going 90 degrees from the floor, I wonder if it's actually possible to put a bed in there...
I think even my bathroom is bigger than that.

Might be my hangover, but I'm having some real trouble getting a layout from those pictures. If we call the "wall" with the window the front wall, it looks like the sink is against the opposite, back wall. No? ----- TANSTAAFL

The sad thing is, that if that was in the UK it'd still go for ú150k. I'm sure I saw what was basically a cupboard in the centre of London being advertised for that once

house prices in the UK are out of control. getting on the property ladder is completely unreasonable to first-timers unless you have a VERY well paying job. By the time you've actually paid for that cupboard, chances are you'll be dead

Holy crap, my dad told me about this place but I didn't think it was true. He mentioned about a place about the size of a closet being really expensive because of the area it was in over there.

I've been saving for a deposit for years, earn a decent wage for my age and I'm still relying on a house price crash in the next year or two to get on the ladder :D
I think I'm one of a very small number of people in the UK that would be quite happy for interest rates to treble for a year

Actually I did the maths with somebody and the room in london wasn't a bad deal. Assuming the occupant stayed there four nights a week and went home at weekends then the cost of a hotel in the area over a few years would have been more than he was losing in interest by not having the money.
That said it was a very expensive luxury. Most people would have settled for an hour on the train each day. An hour of your time had to be pretty valuable to go for it.
I could explain what is up with the british economy but it would be politics. Instead I'll link here and call for the abolition of potatoes. ---- Anything less is wasted effort |

Wow.
A friend of mine was complaining the other day about the cost of a 400acre property in the south west of australia.
About the same price as that apartment. ______ Unrepentant Southern Federation Cheerleader.

If I did it right then that apartment is 87,695.97 US. That's over half of what I paid for my place on 10 acres.

Does the sink double as the toilet? There were no pictures of the bathroom - just a shower... or... Just don't leave any knives near the sink.
But to call this an apartment would be wrong, it would be classified as an "efficiency" in the US. I am sure in NYC there are hundreds, if not thousands of these things for sale or rent. |

lol, that's pretty decent for the location.
You *can't* get a tiny apartment for less than 50K euros where I live (and that's for a total dump). You simply can't. For a decent location and decent condition apartment, it's at least 80k euros (more likely 100-125). Welcome to Victoria, BC, Canada

You *can't* get a tiny apartment for less than 75K euros where I live (and that's for a total dump). You simply can't. For a decent location and decent condition apartment, it's at least 100k euros (more likely 125-150). Welcome to Victoria, BC, Canada.
edit: made my prices more realistic (aka, raised them)
100k Euros is 75k GBP - that's nothing! I'd kill my own mother to be able to find a flat that cheap where I live
Double that and you're in the right price bracket

I'm breaking that down to roughly $1600.00 per ft2.
In contrast, France sold the Louisiana Territory to the US in 1803 for $23.2 million (which includes interest) which breaks down to approximately $0.00000000128 per ft2.
(pretty sure my math is correct)

Don't worry, I only ever really cook in the first kitchen and I clean them both if anything untowards happens in there.
