I know it was possible some time ago, but it was considered a bug/exploit to store a ship into orcas maintenance bay while under attack. I was looking for an answer whether it's still possible but can't find any.
So is it possible to "save" a ship by storing it into Orca's bay? |

Has been recently reported to be possible.
Pretty sure Heretic Army are still doing it in and around Amamake.

Yes its possible. No its not considered a bug/exploit.
It is pretty lame though. |

Put up a proposal and I'll look at it.
I got no problem with getting ganked, happens to us all. Being aggressed and having somewhere safe to go when the gank goes pear-shaped, mmm. Not right, not right at all.
I'm not saying cloakers in low-sec is right either - annoyed the hell out of me, but its not the same. You'll always have people who don't want a fight, but the Orca crap just spoils fights. So not the same. |

Well i just tested it:
- with 'A' char attacked 'B' char (in 0.5 sec)
- 'B' tried to store the ship in 'C's Orca: '(question) Are you sure you wish to eject from your ship and store it in the Orca?
- but got this message: (notify) You cannot store your ship as you are currently a criminal on the run from Concord or are trying to escape player retribution.
So it doesn't work (at least in hi-sec) due to weird EVE flagging (why got 'B' flagged - he didn't even defend himself from 'A'). |

If you trigger a CONCORD response then you must PAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!
Pretty sure it's a petitionable exploit if you do find a way not to die in the fire. I seem to recall there being something like that around the time black ops came out when people figured out they could aggress with a cyno already lit in low sec, gank and jump out before CONCORD killed them. |

Dude, you missreaded - i was trying to "hide" the char which was being attacked (B), not the one attacking (A).
I was just testing if one could save a ship against sucide gangers - which (at least as I tested it) he could not. |

so in lowsec, is it possible to store the ship inside the orca while being aggresed or does the pilot have to eject out of the pvp ship then orca alt scoops it? |

Yes, CCP has decided to spend resources making very specific Orca nerfs to just damage ninjas. We were, after all, about the only threat to LVL4 mission runners. (and even then, they had to shoot first before we could do anything)
Still waiting on them to fix the 'unscannable/no loot drop' corp hangar bay bug, though. But I guess its OK, when the bug benefits carebears. Still pissed off about it though.
But incidentally, the Orca can be used to avoid Concord death. (Try it on SISI, as on Tranq I suppose its a bannable offense. Oh wait, but so is botting, but CCP won't lift a finger to deal with that.....) 
1) Gank someone with a Tornado while sitting next to an Orca.
2) Eject from Tornado.
3) Have Orca scoop Tornado.
Concord evaded. Kind of stunned that CCP makes killing the ninja profession high priority, but can't be bothered to fix this kind of stuff.

Edit: Except maybe cov ops cloak in lowsec, but if you have a half decent dramiel pilot he can bump the cloaked pilot getting you the goodies. |
