This Friday 18th of January I will undergo a very complex and delicate surgery, the total removal of my capsule-interface implants.
Albeit medics have confirmed this procedure is feasible, risks are quite high and possible results vary from a temporary loss of movement on the body, to end up in a vegetative state or death.
Given the probably outcomes I have taken the precautions to donate all my ships and assets to trusted individuals within the Federation. If the worst happens, IÆm confident they will make good use of my belongings.
Lutin Group will be closed down and cease operations this week, while I transfer myself to the freelancer division of The Scope network.
If everything goes well, I plan to spend the rest of my days in Grinacanne II on the country house of my fathers near the Borloguese vineyards. If things go wrong however, well letÆs say I was happy to know you all, from scoundrels and thieves, to goodwill men and loyal friends.

Things will go well. Things went badly enough to let you leave the capsuleers corps, so, it can't go wrong indefinitely. I don't know maybe it can.
Given the current state of galaxywide affairs, I may very well join you soon on your retirement Bruno. I'm no good in vineyardship however.

Sir. Allow me to extend my best wishes for a safe and successful surgery, and a speedy, uncomplicated recovery. I wish you good luck in your future endeavours, and I hope to sample your vineyard's works at some point. ----- "I am prepared to meet my maker; whether my maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter." |

Some of us work toward this on the weekend without surgery!
Good luck though!
I say prep for dustoff, nuke the site from orbit...

Bruno, I wish I could talk you out of this, but as I've said before, I doubt what I could say could do what others couldn't. The skies will be a darker place in your absence, my friend. I wish you luck with the operation, and I hope you enjoy your new life as a freelance journalist. If you ever need anything, anywhere, at any time, feel free to track me down.
Stay safe.

On behalf on the Phoenix Wing I wish you well for the future my friend, and i thank you for the kind donations you made to our ongoing efforts.
On a personal note i will miss you greatly and i mirror Damith's sentiments when she refers to you as 'the best of us'. You will forever be missed amongst our ranks. Should you decide to reverse the surgery and re-join the capsuleer community NIX's doors will always be open to you.

Farewell and good luck, Bonner-Haan. I can't say I've ever had the pleasure of flying beside you (or even against you), but I sense that your departure will be a loss to capsuleers everywhere. -

I hope that your delicate surgery is successful with no harmful by products.
I am also pleased to know that the Federation has one less loyalist within its ranks.

Surely, if he's quitting the life of a capsuleer and retiring, that means he's returning the ranks of Federation loyalists? -

I do not know you, and we have never met, and now we never will.
However, it is always sad when a capsuleer is so disturbed by current events that they feel the need to leave. If only the galaxy were a better place.
I wish you well and good luck, sir. May your operation go smoothly and your retirement even more so. Fair days, my friend.

When running a trace this afternoon, in a hope to ascertain Bruno's whereabouts, I drew a disheartening blank. It is to be hoped that Bruno is now safely planetside enjoying the literal fruits of his labours.
I am vaguely aware of the reasons for his actions and whilst I understand them, they are frighteningly final. It speaks of the man's integrity and committment.
I thank him for his gift of a home when I was most in need of one, and for his final bequest which was saddeningly generous. I will think in the coming days of the best way in which to utilise said gifts and assure him that it will not be squandered.
The Federation and its plight will be foremost in my mind.
Farewell Bruno, the pod-pilot community is a little less for your absence. |

I had hopes that our respective organisations would be able to work together at some stage in the future and it is a shame that this will now never happen.
On a personal note, I shall be sad to see you go, Bruno. I'm not sure I entirely understand your reasoning for choosing such a permanent method of retirement. As someone who is semi-retired myself, I do have some insight into the general fatigue (that's the best I can do to describe it) that can set in after a few years as a capsuleer, but the idea of cutting myself off from this world entirely fills me with horror.
Anyways, I wish you well for your retirement years. May they be peaceful and productive.
