Ok,
I have read about several types of ships they are planning to add in such as more Elite Frigates, Elite Cruisers, etcà
Here is an idea I had while playing the other night, not sure how feasible it is to get working in the game, but here goes anyway.
If someone else has brought it up previously, then I apologize for being repetitive.
I would love to see a ship that functions as an aircraft carrier. A Giant behemoth of a thing that several frigates could dock into and be transported in.
Some possible ideas for the carrier could be:
1)Slower than most or all other ships
2)Carry maybe like 4 to 6 frigates at one time
3)While docked the frigates would have some of the damage that the carrier takes applied to them, not to say the carrier would take less, but I also think that frigates should not be left untouched when the carrier gets beat on.
4)Any frigate that gets destroyed while docked would cause some splash damage to the carrier as a result of the explosion
5)Some sort of timer or delay for launching the frigates from the carrier
The carrier can travel to the battle, having much greater warping power than a frigate, it would basically deliver frigates to a battle all ready to undock with full capacitors.
Anyway, just a thought I had, might not be a possible thing in EVE at this point, but I think it would be an interesting addition, and help encourage more large scale battles, with a higher focus on using frigates.

I'd LOVE to see this too but CCP has indicated that the carriers they've got in design will be DRONE carriers. IMO this is a great shame and they really should look into making frigate capable carriers. It would be a great way to make frigs even more useful.

What you have described is, to my knowledge, a Titan class vessel. From what i have heard a while back they will be able to carry frigate and possibly even cruiser class vessels

Carriers: somewhere between battleships and titans
These ships help move ships around space. They have weak defences, but can repair and transport fleets of ships in space.
special: friendly ships can dock and be repaired. 90% reduction of unassembled ships cargo space needs.
50,000 cargo? (not sure how much cargo).
enough cargo to haul 10-20 frigates or 5-10 cruisers

this is called a titan, carriers are a waste of time and money if they only carry frigates, and if they have weak defense compared to say a battleship, in a fleet battle the carrier is gone the second the fleet calls it as a target >.<
titans however are(will be) useful b/c they can carry as many ships as they want(like a station) and have very thick shields, with base skills they have 500K...anyways dont ask for useless content, whine to ccp about promised content first, then get the useless stuff in plz..

I can think of plenty of uses for the frigate carrier. How about carrying around a stock of elite frgates so that the frig pilots dont need to go 60 jumps to empire and back to get a new one when they inevitably die. The carrier wouldnt actually take part in the fleet battles either, for the reasons you've stated, it would be number 1 target. Instead it would probably have to sit back in a safe spot and act as a mobile resupply base.
Titans are going to be way too big and expensive for this simple support role. We need someting the size/cost of a tier 2 BS (or maybe a bit more) but with next to no offensive/defensive capabitities. Think of it as a battle indi with a docking bay.

Would be interesting if you could mount a controling rod on a ship and be able to fly a frigate remotely
