*Agrees* as most people point out, with the all the people (and highways etc.) eve has gotten too small. And perhaps by *finding new gates* into new systems this might aleviate the situation.
p.s. or maybe even when we find new portals in our own galaxy we find a new race ( ) p.p.s. or even perhaps a way in the future when we starting getting more then 15k people online at once suddenly we find a new link to a new galaxy (being another server) which we can go between and explore.

Would be cool if they "found" some gates to several new systems since they probably aren't wanting to open up Jove space quite yet :D _______________

There are hundreds of semi-empty systems out there... . I think we don't need new ones, for now at least.

we don't need new systems we need more reasons to go to the ones that are already out there that no one is ever in.

With all these players, we need more labs, factories and offices. It's really hard to find anything available.

I fully expect the Intaki Syndicate to become accepted as a legit governing body at some point in the future and get graded anything but 0.0 but is it needed now?
Not really, can't find a place in the core, fan out.
We need ways to hide an operation in 0.0, if we get this I forsee a hoard of corporations partially leaving empire space and making a lot of room for the new meat.

Deadflip flames everyone else so here goes... Click the map option, select pilots in space, and just look at all those empty systems. Now stop whining! The server lag is a problem but EVE being too crowded is not.

simple answer that the devs wont do: get rid of the superhighways.
At least 10% of the server pop is in 5 systems

I spend most of my time about 5 jumps from the highway, in systems of .5 sec or higher. You'd be amazed at just how empty some of them are.

Tonights top story:
Concord to increase patrols into previously lawless systems.
The peace accords have apparently worked. The (uneasy) alliances between the 4 major empires have enabled trade to flourish for the last couple of decades, and the results are staggering. Due to the huge growth of the economy, tax revenue has increased to the point where the resources are now available to expand the empires and provide more room for the growing population of our universe.
This especially welcome news for business and trade in general as corporations have struggled to keep up with the demand placed on them by a growing population. This had gotten so extreme at one point that some factions were openly calling for a return to war in order to reduce the population, and there by preserve the limited resources available.
With 90% of the (mapped) universe currently being lawless, this expansion paves the way for greater access to much needed resourses. Resources law abiding citizens desperatly need to grow and prosper.

In other news:
pirate corps whine and cry about these changes beacuse despite being a (vocal) minority of the population. They have prospered by restricting access to major supplies of rare minerals, and are understandably upset by their loss of monopoly.
Concord is unmoved by their arguements, and will immediatly begin clearing out the malcontents, griefers, and social degenerates that seem to make up the most vocal portion of their ranks.

And our final story of the night. Concord has imposed a retroactive ban of all criminals from empire space. This has been helped by the recent fix in (flawed) software that prevented te database from properly updating criminal records. Anyone guilty of podding more than three pilots will hereby be (retroactively) proclaimed to be a mass murderer and incapable of reform.
Candidates will immediatly have their security status set to -10 and will be KOS in all space.
(Shouldn't bother you all much right? I mean you are all about the PvP, this will give you MORE opportunities to engage in it. Real pirates are -10 anyway, right?)

There's way too much secure space, and the rules for secure space stink as they exist. Really the four major empires should be seperated by major swaths of insecure redzones, and no damned superhighways. It'd be easy to remove them. Just continue the war plot or whatever to have them turned off for strategic concerns. SECURE SPACE IS THE NEWBIE DUNGEON WHERE THE KOBOLDS AND JELLIES ARE! Do not live your life as a jelly whacker!

Edited by: LeiLani Caliente on 26/03/2004 14:50:53 I agree, we need a lot more 0.0 space. double the current size would be so nice. It is currently too easy for alliances to patrol vast amounts of systems.
I would be all for taking rading parties into alliance controlled space if it was impossible for them to click on the map and see that there is a group of 6 people out in a particular system, and at MOST it would take them 20 jumps to check us out. How can you call it DEEP space when it isn't even 100 jumps to the end of most of alliance controlled territory. That would be DEEP.

Yes tehre is a lot of system They are waste land only make our travel long and boring. These systems are without stations, without decent roids and without decent NPC pirates. No need to go there, rest of space getting crowded.
Example is Outer Ring. Three systems where are only stations. Over 100 systems empty. Five systems with ores better than kernite. Emptiness observed by me is 98% space is just void without players inside.
Conclusion: There are a LOT of systems out there "for nothing!" EVE need more space worth to go there not VOID.

How about this - they manage to re-open the Eve-gate and we all get to fly back home, with the added spice of them not *wanting* us back, resulting in an inter-universe war? Sounds pretty good to me, and it'll give me a chance to take some pot-shots at Earth...
